  1. Nah - not saying that. Never sell that one, like even if you got back what you got for it you would spend multiple times that over the next ten years trying to find another P that suits! (or you will be so made up with your Wal you won’t need a P...)
  2. I’ll just leave this here from the release notes for 3.0- there’s always going to be one person getting the wedgie! HX Stomp's simultaneous block count has been increased from six to eight. IMPORTANT! Although HX Stomp now has two additional block locations, this doesn't mean it magically has more DSP horsepower to accommodate those blocks. Don't be surprised if you're not able to fill all eight blocks with exactly what you want, especially considering the new polyphonic pitch models take up a lot more DSP. We've taken note of those who've bemoaned HX Stomp's 6 block limit, and if the same person now complains about running out of DSP with 8 blocks, we're sending hooligans to their home to administer an atomic wedgie.
  3. Visiting that forum was the most wierd internet experince since I tried to understand the world of hifi - it’s kinda like a religious cult
  4. That is probably a good all-in-one solution for bass players. Unless you are an absolute pedal fiend I think for bass players the full fat Helix and LT are a wee bit big - This has a fair bit of the functionality that would add to my hx stomp without adding masses of real estate and that and a exp pedal would be a nice setup that you wouldn’t need a pedalboard for. plus we might not have the HX effects owners bi-Monthly “why can’t I have this form factor with the amp sims?“ questions!
  5. Probably cos @walshy is still going making his list!!
  6. Didn’t come - now maybe due Monday :s
  7. UPS shows this due for delivery today... but also when last updated it was in Poland still...
  8. Mesa used to use west side and had similarly massive mark ups
  9. And his price if he changes the strings on them all is higher than most of us!
  10. build Number 1 I used one of stevies' kits - it's great. I love it - it lets me hook up to my HX stomp and use it as a platform for amp and cab sims.... build number two I had some spare ply, I found out my saw wasn't very accurate and straight and there's a pile of bits sat in the garage waiting to be built. Need to chat to Stevie and get his recommendations for the sub. I don't need two cabs as the one will be good enough for what I do - but having two cabs is something I kinda want and building it myself gives me the opportunity to do that at a relatively low price.
  11. I forgot to say that that's probably the most important aspect.
  12. Moollon's thing is 'authentic sounding' and metalwork made with older alloys - I think the luthier thinks a 1 piece flat sawn with a single action truss rod sounds more like a vintage bass who knows how much difference it makes. I'm guessing between a multi laminate neck with dual action and multiple carbon rods and a 1 piece flat sawn with a single action truss rod you could hear a difference... the smaller changes I've no idea!
  13. I've got the parts to build a second... @stevie was suggesting a horn-less sub (which makes it cheaper) ... I need to get on that project actually!
  14. single action truss rod (as opposed to dual action) is a selling point if you're buying a Moollon....
  15. Because the product essentially hasn’t changed. A US Fender Precision Or Jazz, A musicman stingray and a USA G&L L1000 are all roughly similar “standard” models of the brand of broadly similar To produce instruments all designed by the same fella so if 20 years back a USA was 80% of the price of a Stingray at 100% (£800 and £1000) Andertons are selling the equivalent “American Proffessional 2” series for about £1600 - so the price has doubled in the last twenty years - musicman, up to last year, Seems to be, roughly double at £2000-2100 ish so a jump to £3000 in one year has to have you asking what the craic is. (For completion G&L CLS series L2000 is £1600) so of course it makes sense to compare prices- the one caveat is that maybe Fender are sticking their prices up 40% as well and we just don’t know it yet!
  16. that is insane. You could buy a very nice bass from Overwater, ACG or someone like that for £3k. ( @AndyTravis could afford a wee bit under half a Wal for that)
  17. One of the the best things about Basschat is being able to ask folk "you had one of these, what did you think?"
  18. I think that's what people do... they just swap their two basses at regular intervals.
