  1. “Basschat’s finest” narrows it down to about 100 of us!
  2. And for balance - ever turned off windows PC and had to wait while it installs some updates...
  3. As a rule I don’t like white basses - but that is rather nice looking on on the left!
  4. Have you got an updated photo Si?
  5. Ever used a Mac professionally? You never update the OS or anything from Adobe for the first few months
  6. I think the limited ones are the one with the sig on the front
  7. There’s always going to be bugs. And there will always those that don’t come up in tests. The real test is how quickly you can respond and issue a patch
  8. I was going to say that the pickguard shape behind the pups is more P bass influenced than the BB2024/1024x
  9. I dunno. I struggle with how to place them in terms of knowing what “signature sound” I’m supposed to be getting. I had a 77 or 78 BB1200 once - closest thing I had played like it was an alembic crossed with someone who had seen a sketch of a P bass a year previously.
  10. Warwick website say 1987 as the switch To bell brass- (I’m sure I’ve seen them earlier than that) but this early thumb was bought from a guy who had it from new and replaced like for like. here’s an 1984 streamer with what looks like steel frets ... I think you know the seller?
  11. I think the interesting thing will be how well they do live. The problem I think the BB range have is they are the best instruments at their price point , whatever the price point - hidden behind a indeterminate selection of numbers and sometimes a letter or two. But I don’t know what they do- they sometimes look like essentially a PJ - but you rarely hear them described that way or compared to the myriad of Fender and fender style basses. So if they are not a fender style bass what are they? this model though is different - I kinda know how it will sound as I can Listen to peter hook. And I bet it’s way more versatile than that - mentally I can pigeon hole it’s sound. if ppl keep hold of them is a different question that I set off to respond to but ended up typing something else!
  12. Hmm do you like ACG as a slightly more budget friendly alternative?
  13. So what’s next on the GAS list after the BB then?
  14. I think he will be ok with all three, it will be the one after that will prompt the rehoming
  15. The first year of producing BB1200 that I had had a two piece sandwich body - so it was standard Yamaha construction for a while
  16. Do we need to talk about a new home for the Sadowsky?!
  17. And aged pearl
  18. I approve of this thread! I’m looking for a P or PJ and when @AndyTravis stuck this on sale I had a few ppl suggesting it would be the best I would find... for me the look wasn’t what I was after.... but the clear guard really improve it. Gold Anodised aluminium would be worth photoshopping too.
  19. Like nothing from the U.K. says it’s limited at all.
  20. I was looking at that - Where does it say it’s limited edition? I couldn’t see it on the Yamaha UK website
  21. Charcoal frost metalic... originally with a parchment pick guard... I had Bassdoc make me a tort one.
  22. snap! what colour is yours?
  23. Unless they are doing a version where a clear coat on top has yellowed slightly- similar to how lake placid blue can go turquoise on old basses
  24. I think you are asking very specific questions that ultimately come down to taste... A better question would be - "I live in XX - does anyone near me have any five string basses I could come and try the nut width in a socially distanced way please?"
  25. When this was advertised locally @mark_ir , knowing I’m looking for a P bass, pointed me in its direction. I was sat next to my wife when I opened the picture and it’s the first time she’s ever told me I’m not to buy a bass! She was not a fan of mocha I think my conclusions are, I’m glad it’s gone home to Pete and my wife isn’t a Van Helen fan
