  3. sometimes a good instrument is a good instrument and the price is just a secondary quality to it. If we are online we tend to buy with our eyes. All I knew about Fodera was they were expensive, then I tried one in a shop and could feel and hear why someone with the money might want to buy one. Conversely one of the best basses I've played was an old Cimar jazz that cost me £60
  4. Blue basses have a different inflation rate to non blue
  5. So I think the JV squiers in 1982 were £200 £200 in 1982 is the equivalent of £375 in 2000 and £686 today Looking at thomann that's a Fender Player Series MIM, Sire V8, Foreign made Stingray, Yamaha BB 434, today
  6. I was asked what I thought of a 90s squire Korean p bass someone had seen for £300 nothing special, a starter instrument from the 90s - what I find odd at the low price bracket is the disconnect from the prices of cheap but good now compared to then… from vague memory Squier starter bass in early 90s -£100ish? harley Benton starter bass now £100ish, nicer Sire thing, £300 ish - how do you map the older basses into that?
  7. having said that I've just accidentally bought something so will be moving my ms70cdr on!
  8. how many mini pedals could you fit on your board that currently has 4? (EBS flat jack plugs )
  9. Are you winning the comp collecting comp?
  10. Cross posting - I did see the second half of the post too!
  11. Which proves something! The second sounded slightly more compressed… which i interpreted as analogue. Turns out I was wrong! Mystery sounds very nice though
  12. Is the first one the secret digital pedal and the second the mutron?
  13. Load the ms50g firmware in but with the bass effects and have up to 6 effects at once? (DSP permitting)
  14. The control input lets you add any generic expression pedal without midi controller. (but agree about midi controller, I built my own for about £25)
  15. I have a £12 posted M-Expression pedal. Works fine - I think I had to switch the TRS around to work but I was creating a patch box for expression so it worked quite well.
  16. Love the colour of the p bass G&L (whatever model that is, sb1 ? Or was that the one with the single j pickup?)
  17. Carry it to a gig, or carry it not, there in no try
  18. I think that it’s one of the nicest sounding in that shootout - Simone sounded great too.
  19. I almost sent you a message yesterday to see if you had seen it!
  20. I agree - but to a man with a £27 power supply and three pedals it’s a bit of a jump!
