  1. Didn’t think you did, but there’s enough folk who like nothing more than moaning about barefaced and don’t want to give them the chance to start!
  2. If the BB2 (and the BB1 and Big One) before it was that flat and uncoloured as possible sound and as big a frequency range as possible. then putting the speaker in a smaller box and not having a horn is going to change the response and not be as big range... as you can hear! The smaller box chops of the top and bottom of the sound in a way I really don't like. I've currently got one of Stevie's BCCab which has the same objectives of going for FRFR, I've owned ACME B2 before that which did the same (and were what Alex used before he started building his own) so I love my raw sound. The SC does not give me that. Now for balance, so it doesn't come across like I'm Barefaced bashing: in the mix for a lot of people the SC might work better, esp for rock/pop/indie stuff, there's a mid punch to cut through, no lows to mess with the kick drum and no tweeter will be better for OD and distorted sounds.
  3. The SC sounds like some Barefaced cabs I have tried. I absolutely hate that sound! The 210 is the most interesting sounding cab there, I think they are really nice sounding and do a modern take on vintage really well. The big baby is the cab I would buy if I bought a barefaced, big clean sound. Use my helix to add a cab sim (or ir, or eq) and It will reproduce the tone of other rigs. Yes it makes me want a P bass too! It would be interesting to hear the BCCab and BB2 side by side.
  4. Recommended seller and highly recommended bass.
  5. I’m not going to judge, but yes, yes it is
  6. So you’re playing one of Nates old basses through his old amp?
  7. do you still work in the basement?
  8. It’s nice to have talented friends who do things like this. (My contribution was handwriting and a bit of design .) Internet stalking suggests the bass player may be @golltoppr who is on here
  9. so about £1800 plus taxes/import... around £2.25k all in? Cheaper than fender custom shop!
  10. cheers - you mentioned $2249 new earlier- I'm guessing USD$ is that including taxes and import etc?
  11. I had 8 once with a acg preamp. No switch though. what preamp is it? and pups changed too? Edit - hold on that’s the sire not the bass collection?!
  12. For the rest of us who only see pictures on line of them: why moollon? And why over any of the other similar options out there?
  13. Ah you’ve still got it, I thought that got sold. I thought he reached perfection with the L1000?
  14. Who owns a Roland D-Bass 210 combo? next question... did I sell it to you? I just found the manual and for the life of me can't remember who I sold it too... about 5-6 years ago. YOu've probably figured out how it works by now, but if you (or anyone else with the combo who wants it) would like it shoot me a PM and I can stick it in the post. .
  15. good thread to share this that one of the members of the forum is selling. Moollon jazz... i want it! (but can't afford before I sell something)
  16. My findings this week... the stomp is awesome. Rochester comp into svt4 - I don’t even know how to optimise the comp really, but it’s transformed a bottom heavy and thumpy sounding Lakland 55-94 its not even doing anything that special. i love the way I can tailor a rig to a bass. I don’t really use it for more than that at the moment but it’s fantastic!!
  17. nice - I was enjoying looking at that when it was in the "for sale" section - I'm glad it sold!!
  18. I’m also building a bench. There’s at least 7 others too!
