  1. Your title really doesn’t sell what’s a great looking bass! Pre EB stingray with Fretless Status neck FTW!
  2. Or used a drum machine!
  3. I quite like it, it forces you to think about the basses role as providing the rythem more than usual
  4. That’s cool @TrevorR our lot havent tried anything like that yet. I helped my mate from my old church with the design for the titles for this which is quite cool
  5. Really? in the midst of lockdown you found a gig and they said love your playing, but we need a fretless 70s precision?
  6. The latest update was supposed to have the 8 blocks wasn't it. I wonder if they rushed out the latest updated with the compressor for everyone stuck at home and moved the "more blocks" to the next one.
  7. I think I would get to the point where I would probably just get a P bass though
  8. Yeah - I know about MN pots, it’s the value that was unexpected. Is 50k vs 250k just going to be the taper or will it effect the sound in some way? It’s crazy some of the threads my google search have found and how much some folk love specing variable resistor mojo on their guitars!
  9. I’ve got a Lakland 5594 which the blend pot is on its way out - passive pickups go into the blend - then volume then preamp it’s a 50k MN pot. any idea why they have used that value? What will the effect be if I change it to a 250k MN pot?
  10. Most do though. the thing to look for is buffered input stage and then a blend after it. That means the input stage will be doing the loading on the pups - some of John East’s preamps have this
  11. Wow @RichValentine - you only posted your nbd post a week ago - that’s very fast! I waited three months before I started to ask questions about my thinking about 4 and 5 strings... and I still don’t know what I think! I picked it up at home v quick - but playing live felt v different. Maybe it just exposed my lack of skill and abillity? That said if I didn’t already have a 4 string will Lee (metro) I probably would have been asking if you wanted to trade!
  12. For a church setting with amateur PA tech with varied ability it means I can send a signal that sounds and feels like a miced bass rig - the sound signature of a cab often help it sit in the mix exactly where you expect it to with less effort from them. From experience sending a modern bass with a wide range signal going from 20hz to 20khz can give them all sort of problems
  13. It’s similar to how you’ll have much debate about “is bass a better than bass b” and precious little chat about what people are using them for!
  14. you can run two separate paths on the LT can't you, not considered having one for bass and one for adding effects to the keys?
  15. I was going to say “wow” and then you went and pulled out a custom colour one too!
  16. When the road worn fenders first came out there was someone one Here showing how the nitro top coat could be wiped off with meths or white spirit or something leaving a sealed body ready to be resprayed whatever colour you wanted...
  17. I’m confused you have a seventies fender with it’s stock black pickguard... then you’ve got a deep red/brown tort one, and then a brighter red tort one with an extra control hole.... maybe pearloid one next?
  18. Cost is the only driver. Otherwise why even release the stomp and effects?
  19. You can get a IR that gives a amp and cab sound. I’ve got some free ones I found that had quite a good Mesa amp sound into a cab. Obv lack of adjustment to the ir but would do the job
  20. Looks great - I love the tort plate, it really sets it off. (the one on it, the reddy one less so)
  21. If someone upgraded from a HX stomp to the LT - big downside is it’s massive positives are.... ?
