  1. The Yamaha BB range are fantastic value at whatever price point. And secondhand they tend to be cheaper. Secondhand BB1024 would be nice. in terms of farida @AndyTravis is our resident expert
  2. Looks amazing - so what’s the space used for now?
  3. Noticed the transom guy in the window?
  4. Agreed. My take also is that they seem to produce a £1k bass model bass with millions of options that take the price up. If you spec a £2k bass my still get £1k service
  5. If that’s an inch then I would be more worried about why the neck is the size of a 4x4 fence post!
  6. Super clever really. Odd enough that- as a back up short scale I think a lot of people will go “why not” - it’s not trying to be a P or J, nice colours, he makes pickups so the switches and pups prob sound great and OVAL tuners - v cool plus not silly price
  7. why not?! maybe start your own thread?
  8. I have no idea what half of those are, but appreciate the fact they were in alphabetical order by maker.
  9. our one multitracked a piano part behind last week... not in time!
  10. You’re almost describing a Yamaha bb1200 (except they don’t sound like a p bass)
  11. I love the way the paradigm of modernist aesthetics are contrasted against the warmth of the wooden Material chosen, and with the hand made construction that recalls the ideals of William Morris’ manifesto and the craft heritage you recall of of your ancestors
  12. Wow I just presumed this would have gone
  13. I forgot the link - sorry @burno70 http://drtonelab.com/lab/balanced-eq/

    Sold

Looks amazing - how’s this not sold?
  15. Every time I play a load of fenders in the shop the Squier come out second for me, the custom shop was top. Taking price into consideration ten Squier or one CS...
  16. Even if you ‘know’ more expensive doesn’t mean better It’s easy to forget And be swayed by expensive shiny things. I do it all the time.
  17. No, I think the bad ones are due to the construction/finish in my opinion. a dead sounding Bass acoustically isn’t going to become more resonant by changing hardware in most cases.
  18. Also I’ve played a lot of fender mex. some of them have been amazing, some awful. Equally I’ve played some Insepid USA stuff ...
  19. Mexican bass is good enough for that fella in Vulfpeck... Honestly though, by the time you’ve speced and bought some custom pickups and had them put in it, it’s not going to sound much worse than the US one is it?
  20. They used to use Schaller custom bring hardware, from memory they switched to using their own alloy non solid brass stuff around 1992
  21. hello from West Yorkshire too!
  22. And it doesn’t now?! love that Rochester comp
  23. see this is what Basschat is great for... not just chat, but equipment reviews based on real life usage... AND a picture showing the emotional response to using the gear!
