  1. @Bill Fitzmaurice - given that no ones actually played them, and you’re not the biggest fan of bass reflex speakers generally .... what’s your view on this kinda setup?
  2. When I was looking though the plans I did wonder if the height being perfect width for rack gear was by accident or design
  3. What do you think Elbow and Michael Kiwanuka we’re singing about?
  4. ACME make a cab with forward and rear facing speakers too, a 2x12 I think
  5. +1 sometimes, for a bunch of musicians, this place is quick to slag off and slow to listen and say anything positive.
  6. Btw there’s a shop on eBay selling these coloured cabs with free shipping if anyone’s interested
  7. Looks great - I can’t wait to get mine more finished.
  8. Erm - I don’t know for sure but what happens if you turn dry thru down to 0?
  9. I have played this when I bought a case from Peter - I can confirm that it is utterly stunning instrument with a hint of the growly thumb bass about it
  10. I'm resisting being tempted by this bass this time it's for sale.
  11. yes - but it is a technical drawing that a vector program like illustrator can get into. The 148mm will be the outer dimension of it - so a 150mm hole for a 148mm thing sounds about right. If you want me to work out the placement of the holes from that drawing I can do. On a tangent. - I worked out all the measurements for my stair's spindles to millimetre perfection... only to find the friction of 30 "perfect" joints meant it just didn't fit....
  12. I would always show the probability of a heads coin toss as 2/1 - then if you are flipping two coins the probability of both being heads can be shown as (2*2)/1 or three (2*2*2)/1 etc it’s confusing otherwise I think you’re showing win ratio rather than probability
  13. Huh? You were going to spend £658 to replace your £1k+ cab with a pair... and it was the shipping cost that put you off?!
  14. Enfield is an offshoot of Sims ... they are kinda like a lower profile London equivalent of overwater, but with the uks best renouned spray shop. It’s more likely they are making parts for other builders when they want higher quality than Warmoth
  15. your basses have got more colourful recently. What are they? I remember when you would show off 6 basses all made between 1971 and 1974 in three colour sunburst and tort plate....
  16. erm... that's a fair way from a UK limited company not realising this kind of 'raffle' isn't legal under UK gambling laws!
  17. I saw one today on Facebook marketplace for £35. Times have changed!
  18. You twiddle the top knob to get kinda unity gain, the other ones to eq the thing and then you can use the slidey bit to make it louder or quieter. On a serious note. Would a rack case with a few units underneath and a tilty rack for the desk on top - sat on a cheap table - be simpler?
  19. Lists and "sells for" are sometimes not the same thing. I'm guessing if you turned up to look at one of their £2599 basses and asked for a 4% discount to pay and walk away with a sale that day they would probably do that...
  20. You suggesting that Daesh might take a 50/1 odds on getting a guitar they can then sell on secondhand* to another bass player as a way of laundering money? *"Regretfully brothers need to sell the best guitar I've ever played. It's amazing but Osama prefers the my old Rickenfakers sound etc etc"
  21. Michael Kiwanuka on this week. Probably worth watching his bits. I saw him in Berlin touring his last album (we missed his Leeds dates), German crowds are a wee bit odd but his band were amazing. So so good
