  1. wow. and, guess based off the drawing board.... architect?
  2. You didn’t need to turn the master n the trace up much did you?
  3. There is a visual cleanliness to the frame though. I need to make a removable frame to stretch grill cloth onto. Velcro (or unbranded alternative) is the way to go I think
  4. so you're custom making a bass for this gig, but not getting down to weight for it to?!
  5. One thing to think about @dave_bass5 is amp sim stuff... I’m pretty sure if you wanted an amp sim you could find an IR one and use it on the HX effects- not tweakable but get you in the ballpark
  6. I was going to echo this @dave_bass5 - it’s a simple copy block and paste block I’ve a set of patches with all the amps saved at Jon Willis’ flat settings, I can then copy and paste them into new patches as I make them. Simple!
  7. It’s only wafer lightweight...
  8. you really should try one. I was so impressed with the one I tried.
  9. I lived in Edinburgh and Glasgow for only a decade before moving down south about seven years ago. I’m still saying things and getting blank looks. As a non Scot It’s amazing how much Scots you just pick up!
  10. you might need to use two nuts on the inside to act as a locknut. To solve a similar problem we use a small bit of carpet underlay under the foot of our kitchen table - mechanically far simpler!
  11. A MM pickup will have one big polepiece per string, the jazz pickup has two small ones per string. They sound different enough that Leo Fender took a patent out on his early G&L pickups that could switch between them both
  12. Bump for a great game of rugby between England and the all blacks! Come on Wales tomorrow!!
  13. How come three new basses at the same time? I tend to change one at a time
  14. I just went to his website and realised I was in his town/village the summer just gone. I'm not sure what I would have done with that information if I had realised? Stopped a car full of four adults and two toddlers with a "ah ha! the home of Jens Ritter. Lets see if he's in and will show me instruments you have no interest in and I can't afford! Or you can wait in the car in the 38 degree heat?!" We went for a walk in the hills above and stopped for lunch at Hütte in the hills above, where for the first (and hopefully last) time I tried Wurst Salat. There is no Salat in Wurst Salat. Just Wurst. lots of Wurst.
  15. Man - I’ve repeated myself. What a sad idiot I am. So yeah, erm... you going to get one @owen?
  16. So I know you guys all want an update on progress... Primer is on, rubbed down lightly and on Sunday the satin coat went on all the skirting and door surrounds. Looks good. Then tue eve I finished fitting the bottom bit of the banister and filling the gaps between the bottom bit and the spindles. So far so good. So just the spindles and bottom bit left to paint in gloss work and then touching up a few bits on the walls. The boiler man can't come for three weeks to put the radiators on which is a pain as it's getting cold. We'll survive. In other news all the wooden bits that Stevie sent me are now glued together into one thing object - and I've started experimenting with TuffCab on bits of wood.
  17. This was on hold, now it isn't. RE: Trades I've had a few really good trade offers, thanks. Just for clarity.... trade offers on Basschat are normally where you get to own the really interesting stuff... so while I will be picking up another amp of some kind, I don't need any cabs or effects thanks. Instrument wise I generally prefer four strings.
  18. I'll be down in Essex for Christmas if you want Santa to bring you a present* *obviously Santa would prefer payment in money rather than sherry and mince pies to the same value...
