go jam with him- just you, him maybe a drummer - and just make noise and let him improvise over the top of it. Soon learn that way. Plus it's fun. Then you start improvising too... then you learn to know where you're both likely to go so you can play off each other. it's fun

I used to have the Warwick Hellborg preamp and been tempted to do a build based around a API 312 (possibly just for bass so without the input transformer) - was wondering if I would build an EQ too and your post has inspired me! Liked looking at the G9 preamp too- not found that before.

I saw something on gumtree for £50 at the weekend and bought it - bit daft and shouldn't of so don't know how I feel about it.
