So clearing the spare room today, and this has sat in it's box since I moved house.... and while it's probably one of the best on the market at what it does I'm unsure I'll actually use it. The looper is great, the amp sims also effects pedals are good if you like effects. Top condition in boxes with all the paperwork/disk- only thing I think is it's missing a rubber foot. I'm in between Leeds and Bradford, Paid £100 half a year back, so £95 plus postage or offers. I'ld even listen to trade offers but be warned I'm not an effects pedal man! I'll get photos later in the clear up but it's the red one!

I've had this as well... your TC Rebel heads are loud sounding amps but they aren't pushing much more RMS power than the MiBass/Mag etc.... so I cannae see a point in looking at other amps. Turn any compression off. Don't boost the low end on either your amp or bass. Make sure the EQ point on your low mid isn't too low either. Maybe you only need one cab? Try that. It will sound middy and a bit rubbish on its own but in the mix it should work well. It all depends of course if you have PA support for the bass or if you are providing the bass sound for the FOH. If you are taking a DI to the desk you can let the sound guy set the FOH sound and your amp is just a monitor for you. on the plus side if you only need one cab it solves your cab dilemma in your other thread

The GB74/75 is on paper a great bass - so much so I went to try a few out a few years back... it was ok. played well enough in the hands - kinda bland tone, it didn't excite me. I figured by the time you had got decent new pups (Delano Hybrid?!) and preamp in it it wasn't so cheap any more. I would say that was just based on shop try outs. One bass that did blow me away in a shop, so much so I lost track of time playing it, was the Yamaha 424/5 - I just grabbed something off the wall to try an amp with and that was closest... and utterly amazing.
A bit of fun here... I bought my Trace Elliot T bass in 1996, and its still with me now. I have had so much gear come and go over the years, basses, amps, cabs, pedals, you name it, and at some stage I have had it, but this bass is still with me. It's not the best, or most expensive I have ever had, but it is the one that means the most to me, has been all over the country with me, and has got a sound to it that none of my others has, or is capable of reproducing. Sometimes in doesn't see the light of day for months on end, but when it does come out, it's like seeing an old buddy again. It weighs a ton, has got a few clunks on it, it's pretty old school now after 20 years compared to what's out there now.. But with that age comes its own unique voice.... Anyway what's your old faithful, and why.... ( Selling a bass and buying it back again gets you extra points..)
I was reading a review of those T-basses over on the statii site... nothing remarkable in a review of what is a well regarded bass.... at the end it's got the pull out box showing the other things available at similar prices - typical stingray, a fender jazz and then a Wal 4 string for £1400.... even allowing for inflation Wals are more expensive secondhand now than they were new then!! Anyway I digress.... My Warwick Streamer Stage 1 i got it for a silly low price. And played it lots - didn't like the sound... stuck barts in, .. played it loads - went through a phase where I think I had it up for sale more than I didn't. Was still playing it a lot... I'm particularly grateful for Flanker for telling me I was daft and to keep it when I offered it to him in exchange for a Nash jazz bass. moved to leeds and had the boys and Alpher do an absolutely beasting fret job on it (they know what they are doing) and stuck ACG preamp in.... and it sounds and plays great now. And... I could spend hundreds on a bass, go the full custom route or whatever - but I don't think I could improve on my Streamer. It's well played and sounds great. (might try some different pups sometime)

well it belongs to a bass chatter if I remember rightly. interesting control cavity... I've a feeling that mr Letts is still working out how to solder... and I'm not sure the shielding does much with the big gaps in it...
Really? It seems every time I leave the house I'm surrounded by useless, feckless bastards! How did that happen??
thats more to do with where you live i think.

put the musicman in it's case and hide it right under your bed - if in two months or so you wouldn't notice if it were sold then sell it. the 3rd option is stop being a guitarist and sell that instead!

so if I wanted to sell my BB1200 best way, I should send you a PM with my paypal address in the next few hours? -
Still use a BB1100s myself. The actives no longer work but I use the bass as my 'foam dampened flat wounded thump' bass. Sounds as good as any P bass I've used for the job...
and your old BB400 was good - which ended up with me finding my BB1200 (what's wrong with the actives?)
This is all very encouraging. I just bought a early 90s Japanese TRB5 from ebay for £460. It appears to be in really good nick but won't get my hands on it until it arrives in next few days. If it's anything like as good as other Yamaha's I've owned then I'm sure I'm going to love it.
Lucky thing - a TRB would be my choice to try as a first 5er - actually thats not the worst idea in the world....

So I spend a year and a bit trying bass rig stuff, swapping and changing and then score an awesome green tolex mesa walkabout which sounds amazing and is perfect for me.... then I look in the "for sale section" for parts for a bass I'm doing up... within hours I'm looking through the basses for sale to see what I can find. (tbh a bitsa isn't a cheap option) - oh but what if I sold this bass too - then I could afford that.... then I'm looking through the amps for sale... and then someone who had an amp I was trying to buy gets in contact and offers me it... and suddenly from having the amp I've been looking for, in a form factor that suits me I'm thinking of swapping and changing. Madness I tell you.
