1. is it that much for one of them? andy baxter I don't think is that overpriced normally
 2. It really depends on what you're wanting to do doesn't it? My main bass has a very fancy (and daftly expensive) preamp in it - but it is filter based and can do things my amp can't and sounds great (but not passive) my other basses are passive, I like that sound too. On their own the passive sounds better - in the mix I can shape where I am in the mix easier with an active preamp. BUT I have done sound/pa for years so can hear what I'm trying to get in terms of FOH sound and the overall band mix. Otherwise you can change tone with an active bass.... but you can do that almost as effectivly with moving your plucking hand... if I were buying a new bass at the cheap end I personally wouldn't bother with active.
 3. Really really beg Richardd to sell you that Valenti of his.
 4.
The Mid Sweep 01 looks like it might do the trick. Thanks guys!
email him and say it's for a piezo though.... depending if you've already put the pizo signal through a preamp...
 5.
Yes... I always drop a PM to a seller when I take delivery... just seems courteous to me.
it's when they don't reply to the "did it get there then? is it ok? are you happy?" message I sent them. Odd
 6. The amount of times you post something worth several hundred pounds via a courier, the courier says they delivered it.... but you never hear from the buyer again. that's more odd.
 7. Tecamp Puma 1000 (powersoft version) and Tecamp M210, the neo version. every so often think of changing but, meh it works
 8.
Hehe...well, it's definitely not like I'm worse off for it I knew I'd like the thumb, just no idea how much, I'm so stoked with it! Better than I imagined to be honest. It's a good thing the choice was not there at the time, cause then I'd have done something silly. Anybody out there wanna give me a loan? I'd just buy out John's whole collection...
you could loan me the thumb and then buy John's SS2... is that what you mean?
 9. I played this very bass in red dog music - nice bass - sounded great had sold by the time I went for a second play utterly unrelated to your sale - but I lived in Edinburgh and then moved down to leeds, you bought this in the burgh, but have location as leeds on your profile - you also moved south? utterly OT so bump!
 10.
Why don't you just get a pre-amp with a passive option? Lol
the bass does according to the op s sale thread. - just the pups are active too.
 11.
Well i had a play through my Fishman pro platinum preamp earlier tonight with both my Esh & my old passive Aria & decided that i am maybee a passive bass bloke. After much messing around i realised that i was basically trying to make my active Esh sound like a passive bass which is not going to happen,so i think its time to move the Esh on & get a passive bass instead.
I was going to say it could be the pups more than the preamp. My warwick used to have active MEC pups (supposedly Warwick's copy of EMG) and I couldn't stand them. But if you love the passive tone you'll possibly not be happy till you get a passive bass.
 12.
Must be the brass nut folks are going for. Interesting that it's got through body stringing. Don't know of any Squiers that have that.
thats what i was thinking too
 13. I play like me. I don't a have a problem making a groove - possibly as my first band used a drum machine so I learned that I could create the pulse by pushing and pulling. I'm not good remembering chords if you shout them out to me, I'ld need to write them down.
 14. ESP is to LTD as Fender is to Squier except with better quality control in japan obv
 15.
wateroftyne, on 15 September 2013 - 02:24 PM, said: Not much use if both of the Ampegs ain't working.Fixed
Fixed
 16.
8 days to go, and over £1200 already.
so not the worst sales technique!
 17. for the first time ever this week I've wanted a 5 song I normally play needs a G as the lowest note. Fine on a 4 string. Change key and I now need a bottom C# ... which moves everything an octave above where I would ideally play it on the 4 string.... no help at all to the OP there!
 18.
Best Shuker I've seen.
+1
 19.
I hope her new owner is giving her the love she deserves.. :-(
you sold her finally! oh.
 20.
Can't believe I haven't posted mine here yet... MESA Walkabout, 2 x 112 cabs from TKS Engineering.
never mind the rig... that bass! mmmm
 21.
TTT, had a couple of offers for postal sales but I'm still holding out for a collection, at least for the moment anyhow. Again I'm only selling it at this price as I don't like things hanging around. It is truly a high quality British handmade bass at a very reasonable price, and I also like to pass on any bargains I've had on here .
I could collect... but couldn't pay. Unless you wanted an electric guitar i've got hanging around doing bout
 22. I don't get it.... why? wasn't GB some of the best stuff out there and seems to get a lot of love on here and talkbass..... ????
 23. My streamer is about 3780g - which is about 8lb 5oz. (same as fionn's) I used to have a Peavey T40 - great bass but I remeber realising it was just under twice the weight of the streamer
