look in the affiliates forum - there was a company offering cheap class D power amps there before christmas. They were lightweight but full rack width. The other maybe easier option is just buy a powered monitor and use that as an amp/wedge

playing bass in itself is a artform in losing your ego. unless you are really really good. or Antiloco
If you speak to Jens he's totally focused on sound of each instrument. I was chatting to him at London Bass Guitar Show with a prospective customer and the whole conversation was about what sound the customer was after and which woods, pickups, electronics etc would deliver what he was after. He then tried different body shapes and neck profiles to get a good idea of how he wanted it to feel. Only after agreeing all of this did they discuss colours and finish options. Sound was very much the key to everything. He took Jens's advice and placed an order
I guess I didn't actually say it but I think that the way Jens talks (on videos I've seen of him) i think that he's probably quite focused on sound (coming from an engineering background) - I'm not sure that that is true for all makers
The thing is for Ritter, is that for me, they aren't particularly amazing sounding instruments in the fact that they don't offer anything extra sonically over anything else in a much lesser price range.
I guess this is the catch22 of custom instrument designers - push on with something unconventional sounding and less people will want it, create something familiar and it will have a wider range of applications for the player. Some builders seem to cater for this e.g. Overwater and Status seem to aim for a high end but fairly neutral (to my ears bland sometimes) tonal range so that along with the EQ they really can be a bass for all occasions, which I guess is a massive plus for your busy pro player. What I find odd is that custom instruments obviously offer a massive range of options and the whole prosess seems to be focused on how the thing looks rather than how it sounds. I would be more interested in a builder who (like Jens does with that guitar) sells it on how they built it to have a certain sound. My take on Ritter - I bet they play well, not overly keen on some of his designs, i think he as a person from what ive seen is pretty cool guy, would I buy one? Probably I would go with a UK custom builder myself

In most cases I'ld wait till june then sell it to person A. Unless someone else gets in there first with a value you would expect. I don't think I would ever do pay in instalments - if you want it you save up till you can afford it.

my old band went on to release a load of stuff two years after I had left. I was asked what I felt I had a credit on- i said I didn't really care anymore and if they thoguht I should be credited on stuff (they knew what I had done) then do it, if not leave me alone. They came back and their manager really wanted to know - so I listed stuff - (baring in mind while in the band we had said all credits would be split equally) including vocal lines and the major melody - they got a bit grumpy at that and argumentative. After a while I just shrugged and walked away, the songs were 5 years old after all. No idea if I ever got credited. The moral is- unless there is lots of money tieds up- don't waste your time on an old band. Oddly even though they claimed it was the new bass player all the time there are a few tracks on iTunes/spotify with my playing on it. I know this cos on one of them I never thoguht anyone outside the band would hear it and decided to goof around and do a paul simon/graceland influenced mess -
Paul Rose/Prose bass/Funn bass was focusing on making small light short scale basses at the end - not expensive either. Or Letts could possibly rustle you up something similar

Recommend me a Gibson E335 or Epiphone Casino type guitar!

Graham is pretty crap at his adverts but I was looking at this and they get v. good reviews. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/185710-fs-washburn-hb-35-with-seymour-duncans/page__p__2008453__hl__washburn__fromsearch__1#entry2008453 -
Depends on the bass. BTW most "black" basses aren't. IMO for a bass to be properly considered black, the only allowable non-black items are: frets, fret markers and strings
unlined fretless. No markers. DR black beauties. Anything else is just not black enough

Anyway, I will consider a donation if the bass sell. Thank you!
In my opinion, they have have great necks - but they don't sound great. Don't have much in the way of bottom end. I was always having to compensate using my amps. I think, personally, they might be okay of you're a slapper and a popper - but for rock tones, they're not my thing. No thump in there.
depending on the model surely? Also bottom end would be one thing, thump tends to be slightly different place in the mix. I've found they don't suit all amps and I didn't like the whole mec active pups thing. It's got brats in it now - if anything there is too much bottom end on mine, but not much thump. For thump I use a p bass.

right looking at the OP again... I would ask... when did this develop. Have you changed string gauge? Is the buzzing consistant accross all strings? Have you had any work done on the nut? Whats the fret wear like? What is the relief in the neck like? does it twist at all? maybe it is the wood - but given a weakness in the wood due to weak wood i'm not sure i would expect the consequence to be buzzing on the obttom frets. My guess is fret wear combined with how the strings are wound onto the tuners crossed with something else

I notice you keep your tea, sugar and coffee in tins on what looks like a wooden shelf. Do you find any knots in this wood affects it's tensile strength or do you find any problems happen when they sit on something unstable also on the shelf? also... Wazoo.... try keeping your coffee in th fridge, or even better the freezer! tastes better for longer, I got a illy tin just to do the same in the freezer.

Thats looks like a very warm and friendly kitchen , and that's such an important room in any home .
warm and friendly! What rubbish. A kitchen isn't about warm and friendly- it's about art. Amateur kitchens are warm and friendly but some higher kitchens are about more than that - you can't disagree unless you're kitchen is also aspires for greater. It's too dark and cos of that makes the tone dark you see. I prefer my AAAAAAAAA spalted flamed russian koa which is soooo good it sounds amazing and gives such a warm friendly kitchen. Tone like anything.
Thank you... Apologies for the off topic (big time) - it's only a small kitchen, the Ikea bloke came and measured the walls, the windows, and the entered the dimensions in his computer and came up with what you see below. In a very small space we managed to cram, sink, cooker, oven, dish washer, fridge / freezer, washing machine and enough cupboards for crockery, pans, cutlery and food stuff. All I had to do was chosing the colour scheme and the type of surfaces, the cupboard doors and the paint scheme. The tiling was done by a higly skilled Hungarian chippy who also did the floors tiles, looks like laminated wood flooring but it's actually tiles.
that really is a lovely kitchen. All clean and tidy, almost like you're a chef or work on a boat or some other place where space is at a premium......
