  1. "Who's GAS Free?" "Me, Me Me - I'm down into single figures for a year cos I want a new car!"
  2. There's a Roger Sadowsky one somewhere that's quite good. If you've got a bass you like (and you do considering how it's outlasted other basses) it's worth keeping as is. Intonation can be fixed, and depending on what "smooth rounded" is it's probably ok too... Refinishing quickly starts to cost more than the Sire if you're doing it properly. By the time you're refinished it and got it set up you can buy the Sire and teach yourself to do basic setups.
  3. colourbox v2. Even off it has a transformer in the signal chain and just sounds gooood
  4. Oh no this whole thread sounds makes me really sad. The strangest thing is a tech needing to replace a "loose" pot on a new pedal - very strange. I've bought/been given a few pedals that have been fried, and they are fixable - but it tends to be a long process of tracing and testing components to work out what's gone wrong and why - for me it's been investing hours to fix something rather than shell out money I don't have on something. Sometimes it works, other times not. Having said that I doubt that's it's economically viable to pay a tech to do that
  5. I'm looking at that and went to google to see if the octabrve comes in black. It does. Just saying....
  6. Anstruther has less than 4000 people... and the Fence Collective...
  7. Plus.... Delgados Frightened Rabbit Twilight Sad Camera Obscura The Phantom Band Bis The Vaselines (and Eugene Kelly) Lewis Capaldi Franz Ferdinand were formed and started there so they count
  8. Tuner sometimes useful? Or not that kinda band?
  9. It’s not like the world is short of pedals that you could buy today is it?
  10. With 3leaf and Cog Effects being less than regularly available - If Josh of Broughton made his next drop of octaves 5 times the size - they would probably sell well plus they are gold
  11. Don’t you have a bass with 4 knobs and two switches just sat around just crying for a new preamp?
  12. There’s a providence bass chorus in the sale section… that’s supposed to be one of the best for bass I think. (I’ve got a bass boost chorus which is pretty good)
  13. Ild like to try one as it does sound good in soundclips
  14. So I have a Fairfield Barbershop clone I made. And @jimbobothy has at least one Beta Mk2. Both sound glorious, and from similar drive ballparks - and we spent a wee while geeking out and trying to make them sound similar - which they can do, but the Beta has a bit of a bass boost thing going on. My take on it - was the Beta sounded amazing but with the bass boost it was probably more of a "always on" pedal - whereas the Barbershop was flatter response. I figured the Mk5 probably let you fix that problem/feature. It's a lovely sounding thing the Beta
  15. Looking it up in the manual go into a patch - go into edit mode select effect block you want to change with one of the five effect buttons - use the footswitches to cycle through the effects list ? does that work?
  16. Zoom make nice stuff with really really bad presets. If you can plug it into your laptop the editor is a lot simpler.
  17. There’s one in the signal path via Jack even when it’s off - so it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s the output one
  18. Glad you’re getting better - that’s the main thing
  19. sorry - I'm a designer and just popped onto basschat on my lunch break after spending the morning making things align in a sales director's presentation...
  20. The top alignment of the origin pedals and the bottom alignment of the sgt is only slightly upsetting
