[/quote] agreed, but I don't think it balances with itself the back half it too curvy or the front half is too pointy, I would go more pointy - I would move the apex of the bottom rear curve back a bit and make the angle sharper

Build a stingray preamp clone in the OLP - you'll unlock a load of different tones and find a reason to have more than one. Also they (should) sit in different places in the mix. I used to pickup whatever of my 2 basses fitted better in the mix.

stick one of the musicman preamp clones in it and you are away!

I don't think heavy wood = heavy tone works in real life. I've played ash basses that weigh nout and they have been really fat sounding and heavy basses with a flat thin tone. Even if it did make a massive difference then you could make up for it with how you designed your pickups. My guess is that if you go and play a Lull or something, for the price they sell for, I think they will have built a light bass that sounds good so you don't need to worry!

I never actually went ahead with an order but I asked Aaron Armstrong about some custom pickups and he was way more than helpful if you want a UK alternative to Wizard

also looks/spec quite similar to the old Hamer USA Cruise basses

the designer in me would redraw that body shape slightly. It's ugly at the mo, not far off but get someone with a visual eye to look at it.

good name for a band that. If you come up with a logo go lowercase (that's the designer in me there!)

stick a lead in (if jack lead) take the other end of lead - measure resistance between tip and sleeve of plug with multimeter. That should work.

is that off a battery or a power adaptor? If power addaptor try it with just the battery- otherwise I suspect it's the power supply rather than the pedal. if that doesn't work I would open it up and check nothing is touching anything it shouldn't - it's a great wee pedal- or I guess it is, I built one myself, the cuircuit is basically a transitoriesd ampeg SVT

To be honest it only all really went wrong when I tried to put on the awful clear coat I bought.

it certainly looks nice, and a passive bass through your amp must be nice. Talking of which found an interesting thing today... my amp has a 'taste' knob, similar idea to the timbre contol on your amp I would guess.... well with the warwick it brings in two different types of sucking.... with the newish jazz- they both make the thing come alive.

So been playing the thing at home for a while... and... it sounds amazing. So yes thanks to chrisdabass 's excellent fret job the warwick sounds better, and yes cos it's well made and lightweight and feels good the P bass is great - but the tone of this jazz! it's got a fatter tone than you would expect from a jazz, playing around with pickup heights I've minimised the both on volume drop, it's got great.... it just sounds amazing- playability and set up need some work... and the body.... I dunno, part of me thinks with a bass like this I should spend a bit more $ and get the body redone/new body. :S

It looks awesome - I'm so glad it's a good one - it was odd on the one I tired (edinburgh not glasgow ) that such a well made and finished bass would have the odd problem going on with one of the strings- it's great your one is a good un! I one I tried was a good bass that had gone wrong at some point (and it was s/h so maybe not cavin's fault!) happy for you!
