Playing my warwick at the moment with no controls and pickup straight to jack, and it sounds amazing. half of me is swaying towards a simple solution (sticking the 2 band back in) while part of me things active blend and control of the mids would be nice.... and then the flexibility of the ACG... but then wonder if I need all that flexibility....

But Wazoo's nice neck looks well made, and looks to be quarter sawn too, so effects.... meh. looks different init?

non bass players often can't tell the difference between a P a Jazz, a stingray or anything from sound. The "oh you played an upright tonight, oh i didn't notice", I'm sure happens sometimes too

When I was asking about getting my warwick refretted the gallery seemed to be the place to go, they also seemed to say that they could do warwick brass frets for no additional cost. price wasnae bad either

[/quote] The streamer is an 80's (well 70's really) design, and has always had stripy necks. The fender jazz has had a bolt on one piece flat sawn maple neck, did that get tired sometime in the 60's? Status, are still using graphite, stuck in the 80's also, yawn. You don't like it, great but I don't get why it would be such a great issue that stripy necks are automatically worse than ones that match. My guess is that if you wanted a streamer shaped bass without the stripes you would get a spector (and it wouldn't surprise me that one of the design differences that got spector off their back was multi laminate necks, so they may be tied to having them )
