  3. er... I kinda agree with the seller here. You were happy when you bought it. Did the active mode work then? - I can see why he might be pissed off that you just get back to him out the blue and say it's not working. Bass preamps are quite simple circuits for the most part- have you tried fixing it yourself?
  4. you use the gain knob to set the input to the point where it's not clipping. Even if this is at 9 o clock that's fine. - then use the volume to set how loud it is.

G [/quote] Well Rob Green designs and builds basses of his own design and one of the few that pioneered the use of graphite in bass construction using proprietary pickups and preamps. Roger bolts together copies of fenders.

With your playing style it gives it a bit of edge. Good move

And the fact that secondhand prices can go very low on these doesn't mean that it's bad at all. My warwick was cheap, and so many times I've sat and thought that x y or z bass must be better cos it costs more, or is more desirable- which is crap cos a good bass is a good bass. You have a good bass
  11. You got an as new streamer, nicely set up for a lot less than a new one. Any more questions than that and you'll just get annoyed

If i find a decent job after this masters is out the way and then save up enough I may go looking. I think an early one (one piece bridge or JD if lucky in my dreams....) will be a bit more though

  18. search past sales on here, and on warwick.de - Theres been one on gumtree/warwick.de and other places not selling at £1200. So nice pictures and good chat, (and a lighter weight) and about that maybe. I'ld have it if I had the money
  19. A lot of the music made in the world gets produced by guys who write and programme it, I'm thinking pop, tv soundtracks etc here, and often there is little 'real' instruments involved. If these guys and gigs have access to good bass sounds- and the sound of an electric bass becomes more prominent in our cultural musical ideas... surely thats a good thing? I mean at present it's probably instead of synth bass

[/quote] If you go back a few years on here there were threads discussing this, Small boutique hand built bass makers, focusing on woods and hand production. Start more mechanised workflow, become popular amongst certain genres and start heavy marketing there, sell lots of basses, bring out more models, sell lots of basses. naturally with bigger production QC is slightly lower and the website stops having quite so many pictures of wood sheds on. The genres invested in loose popularity, Warwicks are less desirable (secondhand prices drop stupidly low - good for me!) but my guess is that warwick still were selling a fair few basses... but the core values of the brand... and back then the tread I think seemed to suggest dropping the number made and making them more exclusive and developing rockbass at lower price bands..... and viola! Then think, what do we have that stands out, well we are in the most ecologically conscious and technologically highly advanced society around, why not build machines that can produce our basses with a better consistency to any mexicans in america that FMIC employ, and then lets use happy wood from happy forests..... and there you go Still want a thumb NT
  21. I get in first! Sold my home made pedal to korerok- back in the days when he had one post to his name....and I must say he was a pleasure to talk to and to sell too. Put up with a few days delays when I had to open it up and check a few things, (and stick the LED's back in!) and yeah. A good guy to deal with. Hope you enjoy the pedal mate! Luke

The basslab stuff however does look good. [/quote] two thoughts.... 1) they have a green furry trace at church which time to time I stick the warwick through. Now the warwick is wonderful but, esp with the active pickups, it is such an 80's sound. in my head not pretty damn great! 2) I saw this wee band once with a modulus, red hot chill something or the other. I'd love to see a Stacatto 750 in production as i think that might fill the gap that i feel the RH750 could do with being able to cover in tonal options. [/quote] I found a £70 cimar jazz in a junk shop, justified buying it after seeing if a friend would want to buy it if I did it up (i enjoy doing basses us) got it home and eventually sold it to him.... which I really really regret- it sounded good- new pups would have been nice.... but man was it just fun to play. miss that bass
