1.
Erm, where's the other half of that pickup?
my thoughts too
 2.
hi all, ive got both a Bravewood and a Nash bass, the Nash Bass belonged to Glenn Hughes, he actually used the bass on the BCC 2 album..the Bass sounds incredible (to me).. i have used it live on many occasions, and its my 'go to' pbass... i havent owned or played a USA Fender in a few years now, so i cant compare the two. you can see and hear me with the Bravewood bass here, its a live recording too.. im in love with the Bravewood bass, and im actually in the process of ordering another Pbass from Mr.Bravewood.. i guess if you want a fender p bass, buy a fender, but if you want a Nash P Bass, buy a Nash..and so forth..
on my laptop so couldn't hear the bass. but nice song that
 3. AND: what percentage of new basses these days - cheap or expensive - need the nut slots cut lower? I've lost track on how many basses I've owned and (bar the Warwicks obviously) I've never ever sat and thought as i've set one up - "man I wish I had a file to cut the nut down a bit. if it were that much of a problem, on all strings... wouldn't it be easier if you take it off and sand the bottom down?
 4.
I have no idea what the shop price of one of these guitars would be,
google??? really. why does he sell anything?
 5. £2000 is a lot of pennys for a bitsa. For that much I would buy my own parts from USACG and build it myself. Or wait, no I wouldn't I would go to one of the builders on this here forum (possibly one based in aberdeenshire) and give them the money instead.
 6.
That's because it's not about 'race' it's about genre of music.
Yeah, I get your point and see how it can have been interoperated that way on the other hand music genres are sociological phenomena created by a culture or society- of which ethnicity plays a part.
 7.
Please close this, and any racial posts ASAP .( I know it's not intended on a bad way, but it all ends up badly, Let's keep things upbeat , remember what kiwi said ,)
ahh.... yes, suddenly realised how in internet land this could get twisted around. It was more an innocent comment on the users of basses than anything else based on my youtube searching. the whole funkadelic/rickenbacker thing also, it's kinda interesting isn't it? like different music uses different instruments, and different things become popular in different places- but I guess we/the net isn't mature enough to talk about race without it be coming racist. oh well
 8. Two things struck me today. No three One is it rained all day. Two, there are an awful lot of really really nice amps in the sale section at the moment. It's not a forum I've been for a year or so and there is some good stuff out there. I like my amp but made me think about a downgrade! (I only use half my amp) and three Brubaker - i know Nothing about the basses, or the company or anything- but anyone know much about them... seem popular in gospel music
 9. looking through your youtube channel.... yes you do have a lot of gear! Infinity sounded nice
 10. ah one of the few amps I would love to have!
 11. maybe back then folk weren't such bass tarts and, you know, just played the things?
 12. bugger is this another trade for your pedulla that is going tits up? i feel for you man
 13.
Yep, Warwick and Status aren't likely to get any ground back...their 'cool-ish' time was eons ago. Not saying they are bad basses particuarly but are the most cliched. What I like about Status is the graphite neck but the rest kills all that. IMO, Warwick never recovered from dumbing down the brand with cheap versions.
Well not so much the cheap versions- they have rockbass and foreign made ones for that now, but more the not so good versions that got made.
 14.
Trying to possibly get out of an agreed trade after I spent money for travel to pick the bass up. Any ideas?
are you going somewhere nice?
 15.
I'm referring to the string spacing (at bridge ?)...
http://www.warwick.de/media/options/neck/neck_dimensions.pdf the 'fat neck' and 'thin neck' options a depth back to front. Broad neck is width... and warwick bridges can change string spacing on bridge
 16.
... At one point someone told me that all of them are 'broad necks'. Are there no exceptions to this ??.
the exception is that someone was possibly talking rubbish
 17. very nice- for some reason always fancied one of these
 18. the slant looks like a jazz bass made by someone who actually wanted a warwick dolphin
 19.
My 62 reissue had the spiral saddles and the larger size vintage tuners with the normal 18mm peg size with a strap button on the back of the headstock. It also had the copper earthing strip going from the bridge to the copper pickup plates (which is the way they used to earth jazzes back in 62). If it doesn't have the large vintage tuners and the spiral saddles it's not a 62 reissue (lots of other Japanese Jazzes still have the copper earthing strip). But it doesn't really matter because this supposedly MIJ Jazz is going for Squier money which makes it awfully suspicious. I'm sure I saw this the other day on ebay and it was going for about £400/£500. Possibly somebody has just lifted the photos off ebay and tried to lure an innocent punter to their doom...........we'll see.
there are two main models of Japanese reissues. the JB62 and the JB62US both will have strap buttons on the headstock, spiral saddles, copper earthing strip etc. I've not measured the tuners but as far as I am aware they are the same on both models. The difference is that one has alder body and US made pickups and the other has basswood and japanese pickups. Both are 62ri To be honest, this is on gumtree, if you're local and have the money I would go and have a look, if it isn't what he says it is you don't have to buy it. nae loss there.
 20. I do my own setups... but once paid to have one done.... it was so nice when it came back from the shop. Mind you I wasn't as good at my own setups then! Refret on the warwick some point soon, it will be nice to have that back fretting nicely everywhere.
 21.
Indeed. Far too good to be true, is that. It's an alder body and big tuners, so... it'll have a spiral bridge and US pick-ups. That's a very minimum £450 bass. I'm so intrigued, I've replied. I shall go with great caution.
it doesn't need to have. There are two japanese '62ri models- one with spiral bridge, US pickups and alder body and one with jap pickups and basswood body. Depending on the age it may or mayn't have the spiral bridge. Tuners on both will be jap (metric) sizes needing a smaller hole in the wood than a american (imperial measurement) size one.
 22.
Well I think Truckstop and I deserve 1/2 a point each for getting the 'Roadstar' and 'mid 80's' bit right.
except they seem to have dropped the roadster name from the catalogue, yes you can have 1/2 a point
 23. RB standard RB680BK - in the 1985 catalogue
