Well, that might be a case of "watch this space". Going by Rob's recent post on Statii.com.
had a look but couldn't find.... more info please!
Would Rob Green not make a new one? The Chrome Pickup versions intrigue me.
theres an active chrome pickup one on edinburgh gumtree, I've been chatting to the fella seems nice. about £200. ...which is a lot less than if Rob Green made a new one. Though I doubt they are set up anymore to make wood necks

Not tried lo-riders. I have tried Hi-beams (nice) and the Marcus Full beams - which are amazing on my P after about a year and a half... but on the warwick as they got older they were too bassy. Now got a set of the coated DR on it which I'm enjoying. I like DR strings. If you want something similar and cheaper Status' Hotwires are pretty good
I dunno, it's a tough one. Morally I feel obliged to do something about it... but forum protocol discourages interference with people's sale threads. It would have been nice if the guy had just come out and disclosed the issue straight up ... it could be all that's needed is just a decent setup to rectify it... of course if the neck has a tight fit then more work will be needed to sort it.
except if all it needed was a decent set up, I'm sure prior to selling it it could have got a decent set up....
No trades at the moment, thanks mate I've dropped the price of the Warwick to $450 firm, this is a ridiculous bargain, come on folks!
if it's $450 US dollars I'll take it, got family in gloucester.... or is it candian dollars?
I wonder if you techies out there can offer a bit of advice , I have a Spector legend4 and love it , however , I have recently been aware of a lot of hiss/general noise through the amp when I touch the strings, and also that the neck pickup volume pot is behaving more like a switch with little sweep in volume more of a sharp cut in/out . So , off with the backplate and out with the multimeter. first off the volume pots have 500K stamped in , but across the terminals I can only measure 105K on both, this seems a touch odd but will await confirmation. The both vol pots sweep from 0 - 105K from the centre terminal to one of the outside ones , in a pretty linear fashion , but when swapping to the other outside terminal expecting a simple reverse measurement , I can only get the numbers to go from 0 - 7.5K (or 7.5K -0) This all seems very odd and would love any input that is available thanks in advance
they are still wired up! of course it will not be what it says on it. Hum is more likely to be something touching something it shouldn't or some grounding error
I understand sandwich type construction is to reduce resonance and avoid flat spots.
but dones't the resonance get reduced by increasing stiffness?

just a thought Evil Undead... How much would it be extra to send it via one of those shops that you can courier boxes from? It wouldn't be interparcel type prices but if the buyer would cover it you could pop it in on a sat and it would be far easier for you. EDIT: and as for boxes... bike shops or electrical shops, just ask and then parcel tape. Or for basses music shops will sometimes have spare bass boxes that they get stuff sent to them in
Never been lowballed here but plenty times on ebay. But local Gumtree is the worst! More low-ballers and time-wasters on there, clowns who say they'll be at your house at x-time and then don't show, don't answer mail.
big chunky taxi driver who lives in livingston per chance? will stick it up on ebay the next day with £300 added to whatever you sell it to him for?
I'm utterly despondent at the moment. The guy who is kindly holding an amp for me has given me two weeks, which in an ideal world would be plenty of time. But I just can't shift the items I'm selling, even at these ridiculously cheap prices! They're on here, ebay, gumtree, the works, and nothing but a bunch of lowballs and no-show-ers.
they are good prices, well the basses anyway. But if they are pickup only you narrow down your options.
As explained in the listing, the neck hasn't budged in the two years that I've owned it. However, I understand why it could put folks off, which is why I've priced it so low. It really is priced to sell and is a wonderful bass.
People steer way clear of problems like this. Look at stackers Rick he was practically giving away- and part of it was that it needed a refret. Back when I was (daftly) trying to sell my streamer and was honest about fret wear people ran for the hills. Truss rod I would be even more cautious of that frets. At the price you have it listed for, spend the £30 to get it fixed and add £30 to the price. I was going to suggest advertising it on the warwick forums too but since the euro is weakening that may not be as great idea as used to be
I've got bunches of stuff that I'm not really using but don't mind around the place so I respond to wanted ads fairly often, with a 'make a sensible offer'. Theme is people without much by way of other posts aside from the wanted ad take that as 'make a ridiculous lowball offer'. I just block them, no point in dealing with people like that.
I get slightly annoyed with the- "I want a stingray and only have £350 pounds anyone want to move theirs on for that much" type adds. If you want something that people will have spare then it's good to get a wanted ad up. If you want something specific and have the money then it's good to get an ad up. If you want something hopelessly rare then it's good. If you want to mug someone for cash- I don't see the point- like if I reply to a wanted ad I will know the value of my item, I don't need to sell (otherwise I would have advertised it myself) and I'm not an idiot, why treat me and others like I am one? Having said that if I were invited to make an offer I would tend to go low and go up if needed. I have a general rule with sellers that I won't try and haggle them down without reason- if they want £500 for it and I want it and it's not a bad price and I have the money I see little respect in trying to talk them down.
Flatsawn maple is fine for guitar necks. Quarter sawn hard rock maple is considered too stiff. The main thing to look out for in a maple neck is mineral streaks. These are the dark brown, well, streaks that make the wood look ugly. Basically, wood that is free from streaks and has a uniform grain pattern which tightens up towards the headstock is what makes a nice looking and stable neck.
Hey, this is quite interesting, can you explain this a bit more? I was thinking about the difference between flat sawn and quarter sawn wood the other day, a website I was looking at had the option of both- quarter sawn was shown as an 'upgrade' but your vintage fenders/G&L's and copes etc seem to just use flat sawn- and it's rare you see quarter sawn- even when it's a high end bass where it would be affordable. What effect would quarter sawn have? What would it sound like? And then I guess, why do some manufactures/builder use a 3 piece maple neck, I had just presumed that that was for stiffness? Or my warwick which has a neck made of 3 pieces of maple with wenge strips too... Again isn't that for stiffness? Or is it just more what type of sound you want it to make? interested
i felt all alone when my fave bass went in for a neck replacement, somehow none of the other six in the house made me feel like playing i would go get that P bass ! you will go crazy without a bass
I think I will have too! the fun of lugging a hiscox case 5 miles! -
I'd say its up to the owner of they want to do with their bass, it is his/hers to do with what they wish with it.
I'm going to stick a fender badge on my warwick

I seem to be kinda temporally bassless and it's a really odd feeling. I don't have a car and used the P bass at church in a hard case, I wanted to cycle home to catch the grand prix so left it in a cupboard there. The warwick is sat there without a preamp currently. It's probably waiting for a ACG preamp to go in, except I have to wait till they are on sale- and I need to have the money- which I set aside but just spent on a diamond ring for someone. So at the moment I am sans bass (that makes noise) And it's odd, I miss it. I kinda didn't touch one for a month or so as I ran around finishing of my degree course- and now I have more time, and the house is empty.... I do have a nice acoustic, and the awesome electric 6 string guitars, but tbh they just sit there being unplayed and I look on the sale forum on here and wonder why I have two guitars at all! Any one else feel lonely and sans bass?
