I would Email musikding rather than the creator - he's stepped away from doing it now.
  2. I mean, I know it's internet and YouTube and you can't see the whole recording chain etc - but it sounds very different to the Serek sound I thought they would be aiming for

Ordered on Ebay 4pm on a Friday. Delivered 10am on a Saturday fitted Sunday night.... no sound. open up, test point showing 180v so it's working trace the audio circuit... oh great I overheated the 3DPT switch when I was resoldering it and the contact is bent... that's why it's not passing signal. this project! EDIT: if anyone has a 3PDT switch spare in a parts box they would like to sell me... . EDIT 2: might have fixed…
  4. Wrong bit of the forum! This is where ppl talk about their basses… you have to wait a few weeks/months/years and look here for for sale basses https://www.basschat.co.uk/forum/19-basses-for-sale/
  5. but again that depends on the player, the situation and design objectives. If the goal was "make the greatest bass you can for a pro player who's going to be sat in the pit at shows twice a day for most the year" then the Overwater might be the greatest design ever- because unlike a Sim's thing it's not trying to do everything, just be adaptable. You join a metal band or something and the very design features that make the bass excel in one situation may hinder it. The other thing effecting our taste in thing is how we find out about stuff... some basses are like strong flavours in wine tasting - stand out from the crowd - but not actually maybe as nice a drink as the well blanced, complex flavours that didn't stand out as much. What bass forums like this do is often focus on the new strong flavour, or stand out features - at the expense of less stand out things.
  6. That would be my approach too, interestingly I think we both work as designers so there’s probably a level of our training meaning we both understand design process and also there’s a joy in seeing someone else having their own highly refined creative vision
  7. I’ve had a look at his site - what’s he doing with the neck pocket? It looks fairly standard design to me- or does it dovetail slightly?

Finished build 4/5 frog pedals fx1 alembic F2b thing - with a 1953 telefunken ECC82 inside I found in my garage and sounds nice - still some gremlins to work out as it’s decided to have a high pitched squeal sometimes … and 180v inside which is a bit scary

I built one a month or so ago… are the nuts on the pots tight? If not tighten them. if they are take the back off loosen them all so the board is loose, then put the Jack nuts on and tighten them up in a way that positions the power Jack in the right place. Then screw the pots in again

To be fair starting with that layout and tracing it to work out the differences would be a good way to learn

Finished build 1/5 Pedal PCB…er PCB clone of the Fairfield barbershop in a 1590b the barbershop is fairly picky about the ldss of the Jfets - the SMD jfets weren’t too hard, getting a batch and measuring the ldss of them all was! The decal was a pain, it ended up as a metallic sticker - Some of the other pedals I’ve been building I’ve spent a bit of time on the graphics - by the time I got to this I kinda wanted something stupid. A talent pedal would have been ideal but I couldn’t think up cool visuals … so we ended up with a homage to the best carbonated soft drink around. the labels were a bit high up, and the knobs aren’t deep enough but it works. Adjust sugar and caffeine to taste…
  20. Or you could wire the ppt up via 3 very short wires, rather than directly on the pcb … but I think you are possibly right in not modding if it’s not easy to do simply
  21. it lets me switch through the 127 different presets
  22. I suppose I can post this in here.... I made a simple USB-host midi switcher for my Source Audio C4 using an Adafruit trinket m0 and some code I found on Github!
  23. Enough of the pedals - what’s the two things above them with wood and keys?
