  1. I did it as a eq block - you can add extra tone shaping if you want... and means that if you put something like chorus or compression after you can have some high end
  2. Hx stomp is an amazing bit of kit i sold mine and have a few individual pedals - for me, for bass it just about made sense as a decision (but costs more) but if I played guitar as well in any shape or form then I would have kept the stomp - it’s that good
  3. I had a helix. It's great. In using it a EQ block with a HPF and LPF was more immediate alive sounding than the Cab Sims or IRs - esp for sending to the desk where it's going to be further eqed to fit in the mix HPF to sculpt the bottom and make sure the bottom end is more like a bass cab. (Also stop subs playing badly with compression on the desk) LPF to take the top off to help clear it out the way of everything else and make distortion sound nice.
  4. take the microbes out the equation... what's it do then?
  5. there you go. And how did I guess you might have a bitsa on the go?
  6. When I am playing a bass the weak point is always me
  7. Mostly we have a honeymoon period and then it's just a bass. A really good instrument is one that keeps on getting better as you learn it more - it sounds like you have one in the Enfield. It's not just materially good, it's grown to you. The Fretless P. How good is it out of 10? if it's good enough keep it, otherwise how much will you loose on selling it and making the beautiful bitsa fretless P you would inevitably make ?

it's kinda a slight detour away from the freestompboxes open source tracing of things

I wasn’t expecting it to work and then stayed up far too late sorting the calibration. The daft thing is about PedalPCB that the forum seems to have most the info on it, including schematic - https://docs.pedalpcb.com/project/LowTide-Schematic-PedalPCB.pdf but you have to root around to find things - one post on one thread - LDSS needs for the barbershop, another post is someone telling you how to bias it… another is… it’s not beginner friendly

I must say it confuses me - CPC seem more aimed at b2c and the Farnell are more b2b?

    Tried another power supply?
  14. it's some kind of proprietary active circuit, with the controls linking back to it, sealed in Epoxy. I searched the web for hours when I had the chance to buy one of these and there a lots of people with dead pickups, and no ones managed to get in and trace/measure to make a replica
  15. the weird thing is... the bands that teenage and early 20s had posters all over my walls and was super into possibly have bass players on here, that I've spoken too and I just know you as "oh that bloke, alright guy, sold that nice jazz bass last year, complains about barefaced handles every 6 months... but there you go"

20.5 each? For an enclosure that would cost you £5 or so anyway - sounds cracking to me!
  17. (We did zoom and YouTube simultaneously for a bit)
  18. Actually while I think back - I think YouTube has quite sophisticated compression - but it could be that the band are at a higher signal level than the speaker and kicking in some in built compression? I know on our desk we had two levels, one in room and one for broadcast (which was confusing) and then compression on the desk on the output of the broadcast feed… and we had to watch the output into zoom/YouTube like a hawk to stop all sorts of bad things happening this is all stuff you have probably played with
  19. I think that Cos it’s not cheap?
  20. The ideal would be not modifying the bass - you’ve got good pickups currently… but it doesn’t work as a system - so I guess my suggestion would be work out the receipy you want to follow and mimic the whole system - rather than just get different good pickups… in my head pickup wise I would be thinking active flat response EMG pickups, or low impedance Barts or something and then a twaekable standard preamp or alembic style filter preamp or go the whole hog with multi coil pickups and filters á la Wal… ild not go for anything Fender style response
  21. We use YouTube every duff note broadcast to all the world for perpetuity (when I’m on in the mix)
