Finished build 4/5 frog pedals fx1 alembic F2b thing - with a 1953 telefunken ECC82 inside I found in my garage and sounds nice - still some gremlins to work out as it’s decided to have a high pitched squeal sometimes … and 180v inside which is a bit scary

I built one a month or so ago… are the nuts on the pots tight? If not tighten them. if they are take the back off loosen them all so the board is loose, then put the Jack nuts on and tighten them up in a way that positions the power Jack in the right place. Then screw the pots in again

To be fair starting with that layout and tracing it to work out the differences would be a good way to learn

Finished build 1/5 Pedal PCB…er PCB clone of the Fairfield barbershop in a 1590b the barbershop is fairly picky about the ldss of the Jfets - the SMD jfets weren’t too hard, getting a batch and measuring the ldss of them all was! The decal was a pain, it ended up as a metallic sticker - Some of the other pedals I’ve been building I’ve spent a bit of time on the graphics - by the time I got to this I kinda wanted something stupid. A talent pedal would have been ideal but I couldn’t think up cool visuals … so we ended up with a homage to the best carbonated soft drink around. the labels were a bit high up, and the knobs aren’t deep enough but it works. Adjust sugar and caffeine to taste…
  10. Or you could wire the ppt up via 3 very short wires, rather than directly on the pcb … but I think you are possibly right in not modding if it’s not easy to do simply
  11. it lets me switch through the 127 different presets
  12. I suppose I can post this in here.... I made a simple USB-host midi switcher for my Source Audio C4 using an Adafruit trinket m0 and some code I found on Github!
  13. Enough of the pedals - what’s the two things above them with wood and keys?

So yeah - £30 and I’ve got a preset switcher for a C4 - pretty cool! Getting the cable out the c4 socket to bend more so it fits on my board is harder!

Will fit in a sized enclosure

So this thing will be powered by the usb output on my DC7 and switches and shows preset number on my source audio c4 and it works!!

I thought that, why not just put them on the other side!

My dilemma I've got an unused Hammond 1590BBS (wasn't big enough for the Frog FX1) that it feels like at some point I should build something in it... but no space on the board any more!

@sibob https://www.musikding.de/Growling-Krizzly-Deluxe-kit ? something valvey and high voltage, or you could put in two PCB, preamp and drive before it...
  21. just go the whole hog and get the body wrapped with chrome vinyl (and keep the pots the same)
  22. Sublimination of photos on aluminum plates - anyone on here do that?

I'm having trouble finding a supplier for a project

      Jack

I don't but there's an artist in my wife's building who does all of that tin type stuff, photography mainly. I could ask him if you have a specific question or if you want to just go straight in he's [email protected].

      Pretty sure it's SUBLIMATED.

If you've been surfing t'Net looking for SUBLIMINATION then you probably only got a very, very short glimpse of what is out there.

@Happy Jack yeah that’s my poor spelling - my searching has been ok. I found people who could do it but found a different method which hopefully will work

  23. it's a colour that requires tagging @AndyTravis anyway. It's a price he's not going to feel bad about not being able to afford. :)
  24. I should add @Owen is more of an expert than me... I use the compressor for a bit of smoothing, but more for tone enhancement and making the whole bass tone hang together. I tend towards low ratios as I like a bit of dynamics and being able to dig in and send something a bit fizzy.
  25. try both. I'm putting mine before the drives
