  1. For testing purpose raising the strings will give you the same test without routing the body. Be a pig to play but hopefully tell you if you do need to rout lower…
  2. it sounds odd, but I had 3 for ages and had a similar problem you describe, I always had the runt that was up for trade or sale or whatever... got to try a load of cool stuff so not a problem. With 4 you have a selection of flavours to try. So if you've got two rays, a limelight P go buy a jazz. You might not use it much, or the P but you've got those flavours there.
  3. Have four. then you have two that don't get played as much and relax a bit about it.
  4. I have a slightly later metro japan will Lee (different finish, era of pickups and Morodo fretboard) it it the benchmark I compare all other basses too - it’s exceptional
  5. I have no idea if it’s any good cos I’m not far along my learning … but I picked up a Korg SV1 off someone on here with my bonus last year. Fully weighted keys and NO screen at all!
  6. Then you will need to stop some things to make it sustainable. any you read the ruthless elimination of hurry by John mark comer? I can recomend
  7. A good thing I’ve used for in the past is divide your time up between times you are giving (playing, preaching, making the teas and coffees, whatever) and times you go to receive, worship, and erm sabbath on your sabbath … both are important. 50/50 is about the maximum healthy I think - 66/33 is possibly but starts to get draining
  8. Rotas and don’t end up doing too much- giving time, skills and energy volenteerring to make the church work is good… to much and it’s not at all
  9. I found the treble stack really poor sounding till I realised I could change the internal trim pot - for me the treble off the neck pickup fitted better than the bridge. I’ve not had anything more than quick try of Wals but to my ears the preamp was less hifi whereas John East designed stuff has a certain clean clear tone going on
  10. If you use much of the treble stack The blend control for the treble stack (on the board) is fairly powerful tone shaper.
  11. And how does the test bed sound?!
  12. I've not fixed the preamp on mine but I've been picking it up more and more to play passively. It plays really nicely
  13. For a moment I thought this was yours… https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Ibanez_Musician_1982.html?fbclid=IwAR1JcYqyzeC9s9XkuAjotRjETZzXmyODZ6LfSjH6oVIlZD_ubEy0-h6Q_dY
  14. flog the speakers and send it back to barefaced to have the correct speakers added and it might not be the worst idea.
  15. have you got a picture of the alleged prank so we can confirm or deny?
  16. What are the external effects? If you switch them out one by one does it change anything? Even off some maybe be buffered bypass. Also taking them out let’s you test the cables too…
  17. Looks nicer than I had previously intimated
  18. Looks like the apprentice was told to get a test piece to work on their dot inlays
  19. oooh very nice where did you find that? If you look online you can find the 70-90's catalogues for ESP, mainly focusing on the complete instruments they would have been building. I'd love a Navigator Espionage
  20. 90% of what I need to use my hx stomp for is amp sim and maybe compressor … this would be a fun alternative… tuner there you go. Really trying to avoid being a pedal person! 😁
