  2. Erm https://www.theverge.com/2021/7/8/22568356/volkswagen-bmw-daimler-emissions-cartel-fine-audi-porsche-eu
  3. I have no idea what I’m looking at. You’ve stuck a little wooden thing to a big wooden thing to stop the little wooden thing bending before you stick it to the big wooden thing?
  4. I now have a router table on my shopping list!

More like it came up looked good, I could afford and… well there’s like zero past sales to know if I under or over paid!

      Wow!
      That is incredible!
I've played a 4 string Le Fay and the neck profile was to die for, super comfy.
We're going to need more pics...

  6. That looks awesome
  7. If it helps - for the money that looks great as you got it - and I think you are going to make it even better!
  8. Except about 4 string basses
  9. I agree with Owen
  10. Erm if you are the only worship leader does that leave you in charge? Can you start changing things thst might solve the problems… like pick the songs yourself, and give the bass guy some time off?
  11. minor question - is the hornbeam in two bits or one?
  12. who did you sell that Surf green Lull too? have they seen this?
  13. @Sardonicus - so the music is unlikely to challenge you so focus on the positives - you are being trained to pick up songs quickly, improvise parts, change key on the fly… all that stuff without paying Scot’s bass lessons* for the “pick up songs quickly”, “improvise parts” of “change key on the fly” lessons * other online bass lessons exist but don’t show me adverts everyday on YouTube so might as well not
  14. I’ve built bitsas before (MM style) and swapped neck screws for inserts and machine bolts - that made a difference. Freedom custom guitar research make basses with a dovetail and one bolt that you can torque differently to get different tones, tight for a more modern tone and slightly looser for one more like a vintage fender. wal use machine bolts so far i think a stiff neck bolted onto a mahogany body with fairly high mass bridge would get you in the ballpark. To start messing with pickups and electronics.
  15. So in practice this sounded good, hx stomps recent synth stuff meant that I could do a load of the synthy trance stuff on the bass and theworldsworstelectrickeyboard could do piano chords I think… and then something change in my inears and I had to play the first two songs more or less deaf with the sound of cajon in my left ear and a massively loud keyboard peaking everything fuzz in my right … it could have been amazing sounding could have been a dogs dinner, kids jumped around and I didn’t do major damage to my hearing so chalk that down as a win. happy Easter everyone, he is risen!
  16. Did they shut it down? I think G&L are still building P bass shaped objects there…
  17. unless it becomes so ubiquitous it just gets used as a name for the style of item... like a Biro or Hoover. Body shape, split pickup in correct position or single coil in 50's position, stratchplate to match pickup, nut over 40mm, neck (ideally maple) with 4 a side tuners.
  18. I mean “tonewood” apart that’s not far from the inside of an ikea desk…
  19. @AndyTravis?!
  20. oh don't. Like this one is nice but the other one makes me wonder how much trouble I would get in for buying it...
  21. What people say about looking for the mids in the bass… but don’t make it a thing about gear and preamps …. also work with the keys player and look at their eq too.
  22. low tension Labella aren't that much different than normal round wounds, and they aren't as flexible as something like TI jazz flats. I imagine you would be fine?
  23. No I mean - someone floating eBay sales looking for a price, too private sale is ok… but high value items I like to know who the person is or have some kind of contact details or something … so if something goes wrong it’s Barry who lives x who you need to talk too…
  24. A more interesting question would be would he let you collect? Delivering and cash on delivery seems like a handy way of not having a paper trail at all....
