  1. Avicii crossed with Coldplay goes back to my answer of “what does current Christian worship music sound like” “Coldplay with a 5 year delay”
  2. (and no practice)
  3. so Easter Sunday apparently the kids have been learning a dance to a song and are going to do it for everyone... kicker is that apparently we're playing it... with a small band and cajon ...
  4. Should have got a Bacchus
  5. It’s cos that’s a Squier affinity which has them further back cos increased tolerances is cheaper to make this would be a better comparison https://www.andybaxterbass.com/collections/fender-precision-bass/products/1957-fender-precision-bass-2-tone-sunburst-2
  6. what kinda sound you want and how many holes you have to use on the bass? John East stuff is very clean and clear sounding....an Aguilar for example will have way more colour to it.
  7. Any updates?
  8. Good news for you… Yamaha corp and Yamaha Motor Co Ltd are separate companies.
  9. You realise your advert has little info about your bass?!
  10. +1 also fancy wood basses where the use of fancy wood is for no other purpose than to show off the fact that you can use fancy wood. Fancy wood where it's being used as part of the construction, or as a "tone wood" sounds good. thick poly finishes. Anything with hardware that is like chocolate on a hot day when you get a screwdriver near it. bad font choices in logos. eg Valenti with his logo in Optima EMG pickups. I've tried, not my thing
  11. what he said!
  12. +1 It goes straight into marketing but I think the odd thing about this thread is how unexcited the tone is. chowny are making better instruments, in a better way and here in the U.K. to drive better quality. It’s something to be excited about and use as a basis to sell from.
  13. I found this interesting take on music plagiarism
  14. I’m sure Wal would build him a Wal in his favourite shade of Volvo blue - but I suspect that the company being willing to build isn’t the sticking point for most of us buying a Wal or Fodera
  15. Ild love to go around some of the U.K. luthiers with a camera and do similar - partly cos it would be interesting but also cos the marketing of smaller companies like this typically isn’t as good in the U.K. as US
  16. And for what it’s worth - only ever picked up one fodera, and played it unplugged in bass gear for a wee bit. It was nice, not ever seen many I would ever want to own apart from a few of the standard or standard specials which looked nice
  17. Nice wee video I watched on my lunch break showing the fodera workshop. Sorry if someone’s already posted it, I did a wee search but couldn’t see it
  18. my Lakland 55-94 is 9lb ish (I've not super accurately weighed) I've got a East Uni pre in it ....I borrowed a Pre EB stingray for a bit and decided not to buy as I could dial a pretty similar tone in on the Lakland Also as well as weight balance is important - I've played some light basses that don't balance well and they were more of a pain than heavier ones that did.
  19. Hey man - how you doin'?

  20. 🤮 I tell you one thing, I personally am glad the smoking ban came in
  21. smoke damage from a fire?
  22. I’m sure someone who knows what they are talking about would know - but… can you add resonance to a HPF to recreate that shape? I guess if you are getting it into a computer and can run the audio through a some synth filter module it would simulate how you would do that analogually …
  23. Pretty colour G&L
  24. So you’re telling me that Basschat got closer to a lawsuit from Rickenbacker over 70s copies than the companies making them ever did 🤣
  25. I still keep looking at this!
