That looks cool - which version? And 1590bb?
  3. Yeah - not comparable to normal silicon ones @dmc79 - have a go
  4. No - I think it was generic eBay Christmas tree tips or something! You obviously have to get the size that fits your headphones, I have Ultimate Ears IEM something like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/395282265483?_nkw=flange+earbud+tips&itmmeta=01J5NK9H44AERHJF9VJE4YYJ92&hash=item5c08a8b58b:g:CVYAAOSw5hFl-oi4&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA0HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKmN84aHliWa1wZ89WeaY58zEEtgF7%2F4%2FpZr1K2RMYgXGffZtZ0vwVdzvxmwSTGeJqXLZ4pIUTJW1NZZIYup%2BBQ0X4dgOY9VwCWvj%2FbsZ4TP8V5eLE1iQQ%2BPcuhtsrWH%2F0eR6MXSP7uDmccwOVxwcAnku%2BlXrVbqcy1SldyxUACsJFLUXak8TTP0qEPtIvIv%2FFh4RUMuEbuvNQ2SoQzWS76IW8335QrxTuUb1C3QPbgf9os0MRIBSiWx8UoYPza3510%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR5aSprOtZA you will also notice the price difference to comply. With regular cleaning 've used the same set for 3-4 years now. I would use up a set of comply tips in 2 Sundays
  5. highly recommend trying silicon Christmas tree type buds, I had been fighting foam ones for ages, good seal but realistically not built for what I was using it for with taking it in and out a fair bit - the Christmas trees give a good and consistent seal.

Sounds lovely. The mutron build was mainly as I’ve got a C4 and that can do everything fine… but then an analogue octaver blew it out the water, would a analoge filter? I was so tempted by the pf101 but at 4x the price I figured I could test it on a diy build

Is that next on my build list?! or a 00funk

I’m guessing the artifice you get to control the distortion with the envelope too to make it feel closer?

It's a Aion Lumitron clone that I've modded with the "Moog" style filter switch you see around (which does something to the tone) and a decay control. I've got a bug I need to find where there's a noise getting into the the audio signal in up mode... Playing it a bit over lunch it does some nice stuff, I actually got some quite cool things in HP using a long delay to be like a slow attack thing... LP is cool... feeding octave and fuzzy od into it brings smiles to your face as expected... there's a certain warmth to the sound and it sounds like part of the basses sounds... When I started trying analogue octave pedals there was a massive difference (for me) between what I could get on the SA C4 (and HX, and Zoom) and analogue pedals - the analogue was just warmer and more usable musically... again that's just me, but there was something in the attack of the note on the C4 that kept bugging me. The difference between the filters on the C4, this mutron clone and the few others I've tried is no where near as large

I made my mutron clone. It's ok 🤣

I A-B’ed with @jimbobothy’s OC2 and the OC10 tracked better and had a warmer thing going on in the mids weighs a ton mind

so as explanation - I've a C4 and it's great... but it's chalk and cheese to the analogue octave I accidentally bought on eBay (a valeton OC10) - this build is to see how close the C4 is for envelope filters.... so far it's been pretty good but a pain to set up...

Don’t … I’m trying not to have too many pedals built but eying up the meatball, agent00funk (+brown dog), prunes and custard as diy builds … i mean the c4 can theoretically do all of this stuff right

Ild make a meatball if I wanted a bigger box!

Hmm 🤔. I was working out how to fit the extra pot in, and it would just about fit, but be far easier to miss it off… hmm

Calling any current or former Mutron owners … ( @ped, @Quatschmacher et al) im building one of Aions pcb based on a mutron 3 Im going to add a decay knob, the layout would be a lot simpler without the lp/bp/hp switch … for bass low pass is a given, but how useful is band and high pass?
  18. exactly what I am doing. Before the no backline thing I didn't have any pedals at all... For me the difference is about sound quality, which is subjective I know... but I sold my HX stomp when I got the colourbox and then started buying a few analogue pedals to give me a palette of tones. If I could only use one unit I would still choose the colourbox over any multifx I've tried - because it just sounds great.
  19. Like bigredx suggests do this next. the faults you describe could be a damaged cable, and a cable is far more likely to get damaged over time than the inside of an effect unit …
  20. honestly when I was looking I'ld probably have been happy with any of 3leaf Enabler Broughton Messenger Jr Broughton Studio One Providence Bass Station JHS colourbox v2 and EBS microbes 2 which I'm sure someone will be along with in a little bit! The first 4 are almost unicorns to find, and the colourbox doesn't come up that often secondhand.
