  1. Unless… there’s been a redesign in that the pots seem to be different/not have the additional shielding on the outside and the preamp isn’t mounted … if you are redesigning those bits maximising the cavity helps keep the weight down and a simpler install? I was reading something about musician series pretty much having minor changes for each year. I spent two hours cleaning someone else’s well ingrained crud off the fretboard today and then doing the cocktail sticks and woodglue trick on the holes that seemed a bit loose… neck, pickups and oddly - bridge - how you remove a bridge enough times to have loose screws I don’t know!! Be interesting to find out how it sounds when it all comes together. EMGs… I’m normally a bit ambivalent about active pickups so we will see how it goes!!
  2. GREAT preamp …. But… I’ve got a Uni pre in a Lakland … it’s pretty tight fit- want me to eyeball if I think it would fit in the roadster? Using existing holes?
  3. The rout is a different shape to mine and @NancyJohnsons too
  4. Googled ibanez musician control cavity and they had the same plastic around the pots so I think original. edit: here https://www.talkbass.com/threads/any-ibanez-musician-bass-users-out-there.688124/page-6#post-17175947 not recent fret job and more recently levelled and not crowned… but pro enough it was only spotting the filled extra dots on the side that got me asking questions to realise it was originally fretless
  5. same pream I think my on mine - but mounted in. Also check the weird plastic bits around the pots - no idea what they are - mines a 1981
  6. @Bassassin would this be a good thread to show off what the wiring on one these looks like?
  7. @Bassassin would know
  8. So - seeing as @TheGreek would ask - it needs a bit of work - but it’s a RS-940TV that has been later fretted and fitted with late 80s EMGs - think original preamp
  9. Right At the top end of what I would have paid
  10. Yeah but he’s so cool he was into Japanese basses before they were popular
  11. So how many you am I bidding against??!
  12. for broader creativity this came out this year and is worth a read. https://www.eden.co.uk/christian-books/personal-life/christianity-and-the-arts/why-art-matters/?site_id=162595&adtype=pla&device=c&product_id=5512659&gclid=CjwKCAiAh_GNBhAHEiwAjOh3ZMJ8OEFUgx0e16t3ET6x1BL9TwZfQJQqB-5lM9-F90gq9b1ToEEXDBoCC2kQAvD_BwE (for your own enjoyment as much as making a point to leadership )
  13. Nah - I'm bidding. And they are only a few miles away from me. Cheers @TheGreek for sharing it with loads of other people I now have to bid against 🤣
  14. I set my in-ears mix with my mobile and sometimes have the chord chards on it too... there's even an app with the bible in in
  15. I did look at the patent and wonder which bit was actually patentable! I'm not sure either a 4 coil pickup, or a blend control with push pull switch is!
  16. it's the same/worse if you're a visual artist/designer. I have an undergrad in Sculpture and my dissertation was looking at Art and Religion in contemporary art/culture... so it would be an understatement to say I've read a bit on the subject and could talk at length about the different frameworks for "art in a christian context" and the positives and minuses of those approaches when it comes to our postmodern culture... ` "Can you do something for/with church?" "umm what were you thinking?" "I think X" "ahh I see what you're trying to do, the reasons why that might not be a good idea are........ [long conversation]" "oh so you don't want to do X then? We really want X." 🤦‍♂️
  17. It proves contraversial doesn't it - and it's good to remember that Churchs in Korea were some of the first super spreader events. -best bet it to look to Evangelical Alliance or CoE or a body you belong to for guidance. EA I know has policies based on gov. guidance AND best practice. For example we've been wearing masks for congregation singing and walking around, even though until recently that wasn't gov guidance.
  18. Is it that humiliating? You asked, they said no
  19. Hey don't tease @EBS_freak for his Monobrow
  20. well that is very very nice....
  21. you tease
  22. I heard that he gets miced up - just so the drummer can use his heartbeat as a click track
  23. What were they and how??
  24. Slightly OT but lovely photos
  25. no, the moment it was unplugged no noise. (Which stands to reason really as there's nothing going in anywhere to go out the outputs.) So noise was first via the balanced XLR with no DI box used. Phantom off to stop blowing up anything. Then tested one channel with Active orchid box so active. We turned phantom on for that test - same result. And we used a different power socket the other side of the room. Yeah I think it could be something like that. or all the fairy lights on the Christmas tree. Thanks for your help everyone - tbh I need to go and do some tests on things in the room and at home before wasting any more of your time and expertise.
