Thank god. Removes the temptation for a while...
Yup, just long enough to sell some pedals to fund one
  2. Well, how is it Bob? Got any piccies Eude

  4.
Just get a refund mate. This bass isn't worth the hassle.
+1
  5. Man, that's a weird turn out. I think the cut in power is to get the overall size right down, to keep up with their competitors. Going with a 15" combo seems insane though. I really hoped they would've gone down the 1X12" modular route, my only real complaint about the 1X10" Combo is that it lacks a tiny bit of bootey. We'll see, there might be another page to the catalogue, or perhaps a "Promethean Pro" line is in the pipe, who knows... Eude

    Ashdown MiBass
yea, the 12s sound really meaty, i love them. I'm afraid I don't have much experience with markbass stuff I've only played through a Markbass rig once for about 15 mins while testing out my jazz bass, so I wouldn't be able to give you a good comparison, sorry.
No bother mate, just wanted to check. I've always loved the MarkBass tone, and I'm likely to need a bigger rig some point this year, was just going to go with a MarkBass again, but I'd really like to "buy British" if it's comparable... Keep us posted on how you get on with your MiBass, it "sounds" like a pretty sweet amp! Eude

    Ashdown MiBass
so, I have just taken delivery of an epifani ul2 212 courtesy of old horse murphy (cheers man ), and had a quick test of the mibass at bedroom levels. I have to say I am seriously impressed. This is the first head and cab I have played where I would seriously consider playing without my sansamp, it sounds that good. The rig will get it's first real test at my rehearsal next week, but so far I have high hopes
Nice one mate! Gotta love those 12" cabs Just out of curiosity have you got any experience of MarkBass kit? Just wonder how the MiBass might compare to a LittleMark, you see?... Eude

  9.
??? How many people are registered as Members here? Even if 90% of those Members are lurking/dormant, the remaining, active 10% of us still makes a pretty big number. Statistically, it is inevitable that there will be a few trades go sour each year out of the many hundreds that happen. The vast majority (including all those that I have been involved with) are sensible trades between grown-ups, with no grief involved. This 8-string Precision screw-up is a shame and a disappointment, but hardly a typical story. All sympathy to the purchaser, but this won't stop me from trusting other Basschatters.
+1 In my experience, this is the only deal I've heard of on here that's gone sour. This could happen all the same with ebay, or even through Amazon marketplace, buying anything online always has a tiny amount of risk... I'm sure there will be a very good reason for this going wrong once the dust settles, I don't believe that Sean would behave in this way out of badness. I also must add how well 73Jazz has handled this, you are a polite, honest and very fair man. I'm sure this will be sorted soon Eude

  19. You seen this Dood? >> http://basschat.co.uk/topic/9623-acg-build-progress/page__view__findpost__p__1481652 Sugden's new bass, it's got 15mm spacing. Eude
  20.
I've been playing it a lot today. I've owned many basses, too many perhaps if that's possible. This is I think the nicest playing bass of them all. Peter
That's awesome to hear mate How'd you like the pickup combo and the U-Retro? Did you go for the passive switching one? Eude

  25.
Ive never played a MB head that, to me, sounded like something else if that makes sense. I love the basic tone they produce and especially the filters. I find the EQ is a bit subtle but thats not a problems as i dont want to really tone shape my sound, just tweak it for different venues/stages. I find i tweak less with the F1 than i did with the other heads, especially on hollow wooden stages. My cab is pretty coloured so maybe i dont hear the heads at thier best but they seem to work for me, no matter what bass i use. I did try and break free of the MB tone this year but as you can see, i came back pretty quick. Just PM me if you ever want to give it a try out, i dont mind if you want to take it for a gig, as long as im not using it thats fine.
Me too man, I love the Promethean, it's insanely good for the size and the money, but I do miss the core tone I got from a LittleMark through an Aguilar GS112. I kinda felt like "my tone", although I imagine it's a lot of other folks' tone too I used to just plug in and play, rarely had to make any adjustments whatsoever, which is always nice! I definitely will PM you next year matey, thanks for your help Eude
