Wow dude! You must be chuffed to bits with these. They make the Squier look like a £90 ebay bass by comparison, and I'll bet they do the same tone-wise too. Oddly I like the look of the gloss one too, gloss body with a satin neck maybe?... Have you guys worked out a retail price on these yet? Eude

Wow, bit late in the game, but some nice looking kit... They're doing a 150W and 350W versions of the head too, very cool. Like the idea of the built in bendable overdrive n'all. Eude

Very nice dude, when do you reckon you'll have this done by? Eude

Nice one dude! Love the spec and love reading these build diaries, it's no substitute for a build of your own, but it helps... Eude

+1 for ACG. Go with your gut feeling dude Eude
It's the Singlecut Custom at the end of the 3rd row,and the first two of row 4. Although it's now refinished in red,and looks far sexier.
You know you can't say something like that without showing pics mate, forum rules... Eude
Fantastic. The build quality is exceptional - everyone is handmade by Jon. As to spec, Jon will build pretty much whatever you want. I'm not sure what his current estimated build time is - I think I waited around 9 months for mine, which was pretty quick at the time!
12 weeks for my first Shuker, a rather fancy 6 string single cut, 12 months for my second one, a comparatively simple 4 string stealth Jazz Bass. Jon's had a few set backs with flooding (twice I think) amoung other things which have effected his build times over the last couple of years, this kinda stuff creates big set backs when you pretty much do everything yourself, so it can take a while to get back to normal. Fact is though, the basses are well worth the wait regardless of how long you wait I'm loving that buckeye burl Jazz Bass-esque 4 string on the left hand side of the Bolt-On page, very nice shape...

Yup looks really well proportioned matey, it barely looks like a 35" scale either, amazing bit of bass design there. Absolutely beautiful bass and I've really enjoyed following your build thread too - thank you for sharing! Eude

Shoot, just re read it, it's a Protection Racket bag. They make great stuff for drummers, never did see a bass gig bag from them before...

Not long now mate Is that a Protec Contego case too?... Eude
I know what you mean Eu, I'm in 2 minds about it myself but it doesn't look as weird in the flesh. I'm going to go off and research it, someone is bound to have done it before. At the moment I'm planning on doing it the same gold that I'm doing Matt's Gibby in... but it is a feckin pain to get right. I saw Geezer Butler with a gold Lakland the other day which swayed me to put myself through the hassle again. Daphne Blue is a simpler possibility and Black is another viable yet boring consideration.
Nice one Rich. Reckon Gold is the way forward, Matt's Gibbie is looking absolutely amazing, and of course, you can rest happily in the knowledge that yours will be perfect having practiced on his Eude
I like the P-MM-P, partially because I want to know how the MM would sound in that position. Potential for boom and whump there, maybe?
The RFB pickup in my ACG is roughly in that position, an inch or so in front of the usual MM location. To my ear, it's a nice mix between a MM bite and P Bass heft Eude
-
Dude that's going to be one cool bass, going to be watching this one eagerly I personally am not a huge fan of the P pickup being mounted askew like that, reckon the other layouts are a but nicer. What are you thinking colour-wise or have you not got there yet?... Eude

Chuffed to bits for you mate Anything shy of 6 months is real quick for a full custom bass too, top work Robbie! Eude

Wow - nice work fella!
Meh... if it sounds like the AG500SC they can keep it. That amp was a bigtime disappointment for me (although I didn't play it with Aggie cabs - apparently they work best with their own cabs). I went back to my *cough* ashdown *cough* (always feel a bit embarassed by that admission round here) - also gave up on my Thunderfunk and went back to my ashdown. Have to say Aguilar are a bit late to that party... but unlike ashdown, you can probably be assured they'll get it right...
We've had very different experiences bud, I had a go of an AG500SC through a single GS112 and was seriously blown away! If I had had the cash at the time, and could've coped with going back up to a full sized head again it would've been perfect, I was sold, completely and utterly. For me, it had quite a modern a aggressive sound though, which won't be everyone's cup of tea I guess. Really interested to see what they can come up with though. Eude
Oh, and apparently they also may (note 'may') have a mini amp/micro amp coming out. I really like Aguilar, so Im hoping its fantastic!
Wow! When the time's right, I'll be on that like a nun sandwich!

Man alive! That's so cool! Eude

Really please for you mate. It's been great watching the process from start to finish, you should be real proud of all your work Can't wait for the YT clips! Eude

Wow man, that looks sublime, really really impressed, but not surprised Robbie's work is amazing! Bet you can't wait to get your mitts on it. Wonder if I can work out some way of intercepting it... Eude
It's definitely in the old-school side! More so than the TC? Maybe. This really suprised me. I ran both amps flat (whatever that means in reality!) and they were definitely in the same ballpark...
Cool man. I'm resigned to bedroom playing for the foreseeable, having moved to London, so no big gigs at the mo. I'm still in my Edinburgh band, but gigging is going to be very sparse just now. Getting married next year, so once that's done, I'll look for something more regular down here, "South of the River". Can't wait to get the Promethean plugged into something with a but more speaker surface area. It's great that the very same amp is perfect for bedroom practice with headphones though isn't it Eude
