1. Bit late I know, but here's a pic of an ACG SC Finn in action. I'd have this bass in a second if I had the cash... Eude
2. Awesome! Last time I read about this Fernandez were going to be building it... Glad Rex is sticking with Spector though Eude
3. Looking good dude I wondered who'd snapped up that stock bass, hellava bargain! Eude
4. This of interest mate?... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=75258&hl=ACG Eude
5.
After buying a stock Skelf and falling completely in love with it, the Recurve build's now re-specced to 33" scale and a flat fingerboard (previously 34" scale and 16" radius, IIRC). Both those aspects of the Skelf feel so right, so it makes sense to keep the two the same. Otherwise I'll switch between the two and my intonation will go to sh*t.
Nice
6. That's going to be stunning mate Alan's basses are ridiculously good, you're going to love it! Eude
7. OK, my custom Warmoth would be... Body: 4 string Slab fronted Jazz Bass Swamp Ash In Gloss Black, rear routed, side jacked, single battery box and strung through body Neck: 30" 21 fret Maple Jazz Bass Neck with Wenge fingerboard, just side dots, Brass nut and Gloss Black Headstock Pickups: Dual Coil Nordstrands or possibly something custom from Wizard or Kent Armstrong Preamp: U-Retro 01 Deluxe (you know, the 3 band one with active/passive switching and tone control) Hardware: All in Black - Hipshot Ultralight HB6Y Tuning Pegs with D-Tuner, B Type Bridge What's scary is, this will actually be possible soon... Eude
8. They're even working on Single Cut bass bodies... http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php...60329#msg160329 Eude
9.
I guess its good for my bank-balance that Warmoth don't do mustang bass bodies & necks. If they did I'd fancy a fenderbird based on a firebird-type guitar body & mustang neck.
Bad news mate, they're doing 30" and 32" setups now >> http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php...67636#msg167636 Probably only a matter of time before a mustung/musicmaster body appears... Eude
10.
I got an email at 19.40 last night lol must been getting it all over with in one go... Looks like my second shuker is ready, just settling over the weekend then being posted to me next week not rubbing it in too much, cuz mine is nowhere as special as you guys's... although check out the neck construction
Nice one mate, I wondered who'd snapped up that bass from the stock page, hell of a lot of bass for the money!
Obviously, I didn't actually receive the promised photos!
Sorry to hear that mate, I know it's frustrating, but when the bass arrives you'll forget all this Cheers, Eude
11. Count me in if that's cool Alex, assuming it comes north of the border. I could do a comparison between the Midget T and an Aguilar GS112 if you'd like. Eude - In Edinburgh.
12. Nice one mate This is a really exciting project, will be watching this one closely!... Eude
13. Man that's gorgeous! Bet Friday can't come soon enough! Eude
14.
Hey Matey! How's things? You well!? Thank you! - Actually, One of the reasons I like it - is that the HX range are really light! - ok, not Tec-Amp light - but even an 'invalid' like me has no problems lifting these cabs. I recall my epi' 610 was about 36Kg and these 4x10's are 32Kg (and obviously two small boxes as opposed to one big one!) Tonally speaking - Well, I know that I'll certainly get a lot of joshing for the journey I've been on for the last few years. I'd got it in to my head that I was after this undefineable tonal heaven. I've owned some truly amazing gear but the laughable thing - is the sound I was after had only been I guess what my brain was used to all those years ago - and that was my old Hartke rig. Don't get me wrong - I still stand by what I say about the other rigs I have owned. I still adore the Tech Soundsystem cabs I owned and the ISP is brilliant, along with the Powersoft amplifiers. I did spend time messing around with the EQ on 'flatter' sounding systems - which would lead me to a simple answer. Dood doesn't do 'flat response' and looking for a flat response rig was a bit of a waste of time - well, other than using it as an expensive learning exercise. The Hydrives defintely have a voice of their own - there's a Hifi clarity and a bite to the top end which is great - but in comparison to the 4.5XL (A/B'd recently) there's more body - what some people may call 'warmth' in the tone. My EMG DC's actually need that I feel to balance their response a bit, as they are toppy in comparison to say, my old P style EMGs - and it works nicely. Oh the simple preamp! - yes yes - I have had 30 band EQ's and routings that go around the houses - but this is - well - I did wonder if I was going to get on with it! - I can understand why the tonestack and preamp design has been so successful over the years. It's built in curve when everything is set to 12 o'clock is so simple, but just works. I really like it and I am hoping that my 'rig' related GAS has been stemmed! It's very nice to be home.
Chuffed it's all working out for you mate I'm being drawn more and more to a nice simple set up. As it is, I don't touch the controls on my LittleMark, bar Gain and Volume, thing is though, is it flat response, or is it that "MarkBass" sound... One thing is for sure though, I'm gonna stuck with Aggie cabs for the long run I reckon. Cheers, Eude
15.
Here we go then! Just a quick picture for now as I am yet to get a moment to snap properly! Here's my brand new Hartke rig and my two Shukers, Doodle & Baby! I'm really pleased! LH1000 + HX410 x2 (TC Electronic G Major 2 and TC Electronic Nova Dynamics (not shown)
Nice one Dood! That's a beast of a rig! I'm pretty damned jealous, but not at all of having to move it How you like the HyDrive speakers? Also, how'd you like the simple valve pre, as you've been through a lot of more hi-tech rigs in the past, is it nice to be home?... Eude
16.
Not with Armitage Shanks?
I hear ya man, I don't find them that visually appealing, however, from what I've heard, they're wizard comfy to wear and play. Eude
17. Another bass that looks good enough to eat!
18.
Ewan, you must have a very understanding sexual partner; either that or your list of "down time" has been 'selectively edited'.
Is it really wrong to have a "wife and mistress"? It's very much the done thing and a sign of success in many European countries.. Honestly though, I get to spend a lot of time with the bass at the mo as my girl lives in London, but, all things going well, she'll be moving up here soon, so I'm getting as much bass time in while I can, I guess buying a decent headphone amp would fix things though Eude
19. Stop it! Stop it! Stop it! Glad you're digging my Finn mate, it's my main squeeze, pretty much only put it down when I'm sleeping, at work or driving. You're going to love yer ACG After last weekend I've come up with the spec for my next couple... Eude
20. Gorgeous mate Last weekend has not helped my ACG GAS one bit and you're not helping much either Not long now, you must be excited... Eude

Moffat Bass Bash 3

Would just like to thank Alan and Dave for yet another awesome Bass Bash! Was great to meet some new folks, putting some faces and real names to the screen names of folks I've bothered on here, and to catch up with friends I'd made at previous events. Once again, an amazing array of gear, some incredible bass players and as usual, just a bunch of really nice folks. Top curry, too much beer and little to no sleep, the perfect ingredients for an awesome weekend and a horrendous Monday. Apologies to anyone Mat and I kept up by playing bass till the wee small hours of Sunday morning, I blame Mat almost entirely, if he'd brought less basses with him, I would've got through them all a lot quicker and as a result, off to my bed sooner. Can't wait for the next one! Eude
22. Congrats mate! That's one hell of a good looking bass! Really love the koa and the pinstripe neck laminates are a nice touch. How're you finding the 32" scale? Eude
23. Cool spec mate Eude
