1.
oh my...
Wow! I'm extremely jealous right now! You must be well chuffed! Cheers, Eude
  2. Looking good mate! How long do you reckon it'll take now? Cheers, Eude
  3. Nice one 7 String! This is going to be a beast of a bass and I know Alan will really get it right too! Does this mean you'll be going for a change of username? Cheers, Eude
  4. Hey bud, I really like the idea of the clear scratchplate, as you say it'd tie in with the origins of the design. I certinaly wouldn't go for any other material though, it'd be a real shame to hide that beautiful wood Picking up as early as Monday? That's awesome news... Cheers, Eude
  5. Hey Mart, I got a LittleMark 250 and an Aguilar GS112 last year, replacing my old Trace Elliot 1X15 Combo >> http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=5152 It came in about £600 by the way. I couldn't be happier with it! I intend to add another Aguilar cab when I can afford it, probably the GS112NT one, but for small venues unaccompanied or for monitoring on larger stages it's absolutely amazing! What's even better, is I can get the head in a laptop bag on one shoulder, my bass on my back and the cab in one hand! I thoroughly recommend it as it sounds like your requirements are similar to my own. I'd also check out the GenzBenz Shuttle head and cab combos too over at www.bassdirect.co.uk - they look very interesting too. Cheers, Eude
  6. WOW! The bass is looking amazing dude! Funnily I quiote like the look of it without any controls, nice and clean Congrats dude Eude
  7.
liked your idea for the modified body shape by the way, that could be how my next one looks...although thats a bit down the line.
Cheers bud, I'm really quite pleased with it. I've passed it on to Jon and he really likes it too. I was thinking that I'd use it for a simple passive back up 6 string, but I really want a fretless 6 too, so that'll probably take precedent and I'll use that shape, and just the one pickup too, nice and simple Probably have to wait till bonus time though, next year Eude
  8. WOW! The body is gorgeous and the neck looks good enough to eat. You got and ETA yet? Still no news on mine yet but I'm leaving Jon be, as I know he's silly busy, plus when it does come along, it'll be a nice surprise. Cheers, Eude
Yeah, should look something like this: i can't wait - i love the look of it.
That's gonna look so damned cool mate! Can't wait to see the finished article! Cheers, Eude

    Dingwall!!!

Nice one d-basser, that bass is gorgeous! What's the specs on the scale length, do those things not have a 37" scale B string!? Eude
  11.
Just wondered if there are any regularly used single cuts in rock and roll? I don't think I've ever seen one on the telly and it does seem to be a Jazz /ERB / soloist body style ..
I think you're right Si. Up until recently, Single Cuts, or at least the modern boutique variety have been solely reserved for that kind of player, probably more to do with price than anything though. There are of course the older kind, some of of those lovely 70s Les Paul basses for instance, now they've been used and abused in rock music for decades. Probably the original single cut bass, probably wrong though... Nice Eude
  12.
Now that does look pretty awesome! Hmmmm.....I see a little chat with Jon coming on friday.......not quite sure exactly what I want to go for, and I also see nothing wrong with the shape of his basses, I just fancy something just that little bit individual
Nice one, with the single Pickup it reminded me of 7string's Sei actually, which is incredibly drool-worthy. I'm pretty certain that's what's next on the list for me though, once I get my hands on my Shuker Pub Bass that is Keep us posted on what you decide, if you want a hand roughing a shape out, I don't mind helping out using Illustrator, although if you want a proper mockup i do believe Sugden does some cracking renderings of basses, I think he's been doing all of Skelf's for AC Guitars of late, which look brilliant. Cheers, Eude
  13. Nice one mate, single cuts are the bomb! That spec is gonna be brilliant! Eude
  14.
Well I quite like the shape, although I am toying with the idea of tweaking a bit, the one shape of bass which totally gets me is the Sei Original. There used to be a black and white pic of James Leach from Sikth up on myspace and it is just the ultimate bass shot for me, I'd link you but its been taken down. So if I am to tweak the shape, then it will be something like that.
I know the Sei Bass you mean, the one with the cut out on the body as if it was headless, but it's still a headed instrument, very nice. I love Sei basses, always have, been down to the Gallery a couple of times when I've been in London just to drool.... Don't get me wrong though, I really like the standard shape Jon's doing now. I'm talking to him at the moment about a simple passive bolt-on 6 string as a backup to me single cut and I got messing about with the shape. I tweaked it by 10 degrees and I think it looks awesome, so I reckon that'll be the shape of my next baby! What do you reckon? Standard Shape >> 10 Degree Tweak >> Cheers, Eude

    New SX model.

I'm going to be selling some bass bits odds and sods, necks, body, bridge... this week in the hope of raising a bit of cash for one of those Jaguar style basses, a short-scale one though! I hope they don't sell out - the last batch of them with a plain fingerboard and white pickguard went in about 2 weeks Eude
  16. Hey, what shape are you going for? Just the regular dual cut-away job or something more custom? I never really dug the original Shuker dual cut-away shape before, but it's recent incarnation looks great! Cheers, Eude
  17.
the first one. just because it's different
I second that. Plus if it's going to provide the same sound, the smaller casing will give you a bit more room for slapping etc. Cheers, Eude
  18. Gorgeous mate! Congrats! Eude
  19. Awesome specs there mate, and congrats on the endorsement too, welcome (to your doom...) That snakewood is just sick. I see Jon is making another headless single cut too, I feel a rumbling in my tum, must be GAS again... Cheers, Eude

    Which 6?
Ibanez SR1006EFM neck thru... or the cheaper bolt on SR506?
Spot on, I totally forgot about the Ibanez Soundgear range. The neck are wafer thin and the bodies are tiny, making a really easy playing lightweight bass, only problem is that the string spacing is pretty tight, I think it's 16.5mm, don't quote me though... Cracking basses for the money. Eude

    Which 6?

There's always a few decent examples on ebay. My first 6er was a Washburn and it was great, kinda still slightly regret getting rid. Here's what they're doing cheap just now >> http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Washburn-BB6-Bantam-...1QQcmdZViewItem Aria's are never that bad >> http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Aria-SB-Series-6-Str...1QQcmdZViewItem There's one of these in the bass porn section right now >> http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HUDSON-PBS-6-NOP-6-S...1QQcmdZViewItem Check out the cheaper Spectors too and the Schechter ones are very nice for the money. Even better, if you can stretch to it, there's a very very very nice Overwater here >> http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Overwater-Perception...1QQcmdZViewItem A proper Pro-Level bass there. Even better than that, if you could up your budget a wee bit more you could probably get a custom 6 string to your specs, I'll drop you a PM. Cheers, Eude
