1.
Nice work....the second isn't my style but I appreciate the work that has gone into that!

That Tchib is very very nice! Reminds me of a few Skervesen guitars I've saw.
I appreciate it would be an acquired taste, but it works beautifully in real life. Cameron, I'll bring it along to the Moffat Bash if you fancy a widdle. Eude
  2. Thanks guys, I'm a lucky chap! Wish I was a bit better on geetar, but I guess I'm going to enjoy practicing! Eude
  3. That sounds very interesting mate, thank you for the review! 'Heft' is the only thing missing from the sound of a class D from my experience, so if this thing can manage it, I think it will get a lot of fans. Hopefully, however they've managed it will trickle through the rest of the manufacturers too now Eude
  4.
Now that throws a different light on it. I've never played a SC or even looked at one close up. If the top extension on the body is not reinforcing the neck, then I wonder what the point is - but that's because I don't like the look of them.
I guess the point is that some of us do like the look of them, it's all down to aesthetic. Some of us prefer the look of a single cut to a more traditional, or dare I say it 'old fashioned' design, maybe because we like to be a bit different. Eude
  5. I think some folks are getting a little too caught up in the neck design focusing on stability, lack of dead spot etcs. It's quite clear that these kinds of issues can be resolved just fine without a Single Cut design. As far as I'm concerned, the main argument for a Single Cut bass is if you like the look of it, just the as if you prefer a Jazz Bass, an SG, or Musicman for example. Almost all of my Single Cut basses have been bolt-on basses, the most recent ones have the same neck joint as a non Single Cut would have, still not dead spots or stability issues, they just look sexier Eude
  6. Fantastic! What preamp and pups did you end up with? Basses always look better in the flesh, but yours still looks pretty darned tasty in your phone snaps! Eude
  7.
Check out this Ken Smith... not sure about that at all!
Urgh, that's even worse!
  8.
This is a really good looking bass-to-be. Who builds it? Yourself?
It's Sadowsky's new singlecut design, I'm not very impressed with it to be honest, they're awfully late to the party too... Don't you think this M Bass Brooklyn Elite is a lot nicer? I'f I was in the market for a SC Jazz, that's certainly where I'd be looking >> Eude
  9. Bump for a stunning bass and a jolly nice Basschatter too. If the specs were a little bit more to my tastes I'd be in a lot of trouble. Eude
  10.
I was never a fan of SC basses until I stumbled across a Matt Garrison video. Fell in love with his Fodera and that started me looking at other SC basses and then came across the ACG Finn SC R Type. Instantly put in an order and can't wait for it to arrive. For me, any tonal benefit is negligible, it's purely an aesthetic preference, which I happen to love! Your ACG Finn SC classic is beautiful!!
Thanks dude! Can't wait to see your ACG come to life! Eude
  11. Here's my three Single Cuts. I personally love the look of single cut basses, but can totally accept the love them or hate them aspect of the design, but there's plenty other more established designs out there that are equally marmite as far as I'm concerned, the only basses that really don't seem to divide people, as far as looks go are common or garden Precision and Jazz Basses. The design, probably makes for a larger area of contact between the neck and body, but I'm not sure it really makes that much difference, I just like the look of them. If you don't, don't look at them Eude

    Some advice

I would add a massive +1 for ACG. Very similar starting point in the preamp, although the ACG preamp goes a bit further and has more options, giving you tones outside the Wal-i-sphere too. The design and build is obviously quite different, but I guess that's all down to taste. If you REALLY want a Wal, you'll just have to pay your money and wait, however if you want something that can get close to the Wal sound, I don't think you can go far wrong. Best of luck! Eude
  13. Hey there, like most folks on here, I'm pretty much a bass player, but I have dabbled in the dark arts of skinny strings over the years, but have never owned a nice guitar of my own. I acquired an ACG Skelf Prototype from Alan at ACG a couple of years back, which was magnificent, really solid, as beautifully made as all his basses. It's a solid beast, with a sycamore body with a maple cap finished in 'nessie green burst', maple/wenge neck and rosewood board. Here's a few pics, and keep reading, I've got something REALLY special to follow... OK, so earlier this week, I received a package from ACG Towers, a new guitar! This one is an ACG Tchib and it's amazing, a real super strat. Super light, and super fast playing, swamp ash body with exquisite quilted maple top, flamed maple/wenge neck with a wenge fingerboard, and the whole thing finished in a rich rich purple. I love the Skelf guitar, and it's perfect for a 'workman like' guitarist like myself, but I had always longed for something a little bit lighter and faster. The Tchib is it! I think of the Skelf like a bit of a Les Paul/SG type chugger and the Tchib like a Jackson or ESP type beast. I'm going to tune the Skelf to B standard and leave the Tchib as is for now. Alan makes amazing guitars as well as basses, so if you're in the market for a really good custom guitar, I suggest you give him a shout. Apologies for the number of pictures, but hopefully if you got this far down the post you enjoyed them. Any questions, just shout! Cheers, Eude
  14. Great news mate and welcome to the family! Eude
  15.
Just going to leave this here........ BIT excited!! Si
Finally! Fantastic sexy looking bass right there mate, can't wait to hear all about it! Eude
  16.
Shame for Dave Swift. No one will be watching him. We'll all be standing open mouthed, ogling this bass.
Perhaps we can put it in Dave's hands to redress the balance. To be fair though, with it being such a compact bass and Dave being the opposite, it'll probably look like a mandolin on him! Eude
  17.
Sounds really nice! Will this be at Moffat next year? I may fancy a shot...never played a headless short scale!
Will try my best mate, I'll almost certainly be there and if I am, all my ACGs will come with. I don't think there's many short scale 6 string headlesses out there, so this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity! Eude
  18. Fantastic post mate, and welcome to the forum! I'll be watching these builds closely Eude
  19.
That's a credit to Mr C! Nice playing Eude thanks for the links,
No bother mate, happy to spread the word Eude
  20.
Very very nice!
Thanks mate! Eude
  21.
I'd love to hear some decent demos of these beautiful basses.
I've uploaded a few sound samples on my Soundcloud account. Not sure if you could call them "decent", but they hopefully can give you an idea of the tones available... https://soundcloud.com/eudeboy/sets/acg-krell-sc-e-type-sample-sounds https://soundcloud.com/eudeboy/sets/acg-salace-sc-e-type-samples https://soundcloud.com/eudeboy/sets/acg-finn-sc-classic-fretless-samples If you're looking for something a bit more specific, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Cheers, Eude

  24.
Cant buy these though, only available on new basses from ACG. Would love to try it...
You can buy the ACG EQ01 though... Eude
