As far as I'm aware, Mesa never allow discounts.
Their US customers get a $428.99 discount straight off the bat! Eude
Actually, looking at it that way.. same old Mesa.
I appreciate that there's additional costs getting to into the UK, but that's just unfair. If I was able to afford a new amp anytime soon, I would've been interested in this, but not when it's such an obvious rip off. I appreciate that Mesa stuff could come with a premium, but why only to us chumps over here? Eude
http://www.musicrada...cabinets-627175 Reasonable pricing for once!
I disagree! It's $699 in the US! By today's exchange rate, the amp costs the equivalent of $1127.99 here in the UK, that's $428.99 in tax and shipping. For that, I'd expect it to be hand delivered in a solid gold box by two playboy bunnies! Eude

NBD - Maruszczyk Jake PJ... Fender / Sandberg / Lakland killer?
eude replied to wateroftyne's topic in Bass Guitars
Think I might pay the deposit on mine this week, struggling on fingerboard/scratchplate combinations on a gold body though :-/ Si
Rosewood and vintage, minty? scratchlate might look good? I would go pau ferro and black personally... Eude -
NBD - Maruszczyk Jake PJ... Fender / Sandberg / Lakland killer?
eude replied to wateroftyne's topic in Bass Guitars
You're NOT helping. -
True, but what's the list price on the RS112? The massive discount probably means it's going to be superseded soon, but it's still a very good cab at a very good price! Eude
-
From what I can gather, the RS112 is a better built cab, which will probably take a bit more of a pounding. The Fender Rumble cabs are nice, but they are more "budget" than TC's RS cabs. Having said all that though, there's no reason why the Rumble wouldn't suit you just fine. I personally would hang on for the RS112... Eude

That Bugera/Behringer 300w All-Valve SVT clone - BVV3000 for £435...
eude replied to ben604's topic in Amps and Cabs
The cosmetic finish and positive action of the controls is excellent at this or any price. I haven't looked at the guts to gauge the internal build quality.
Brilliant, that's good to hear mate. -
That Bugera/Behringer 300w All-Valve SVT clone - BVV3000 for £435...
eude replied to ben604's topic in Amps and Cabs
Besides the weight I have previously steered away from all tube heads due to the cost and inconvenience of replacing the power tubes, i.e, matched pairs and possible involvement of an amp tech. The infinium system employed by bugera should reduce the frequency and cost of replacing tubes as long as it is reliable (which I think is the biggest unknown here). One thing I have noticed from the bvv specs is that it is rated as 240w which leads me to believe that the bias is set cooler than in the 'real' deal, which may also help increase tube longevity.
Are you pretty happy with the build quality? The new Bugera stuff all looks very interesting, their class D heads in particular - for my own use, and its all VERY keenly priced. Eude -

Would be cool to see some real life pics of these amps as Bugera, rather lazily, only show 3D rendered images, rather than the actual products online... Thanks in advance Eude -
Not a fan of the TH500? They are pricey new, can be picked up for reasonable price second hand though. I've never used one but am tempted to give one a try, heard some nice tones from them.
To be fair, I've not tried one, however some players I know who have been lucky enough have noted that it would probably not be my thing. I seem to prefer the faster attack and harshness of a solid state setup. I was only commenting that the TH500 is significantly more expensive, new at least, so if the Tech 21 effort sounds as good, and is as well built, then I know where my money would go... Eude
How would you compare the VT with your TH500 Lozz?
Significantly better value for money I'd expect (gets coat...) Eude

That's going to be another belter! As always, I'm going to enjoy watching this one take shape. Eude
Done deal then - headless it is! Thanks guys
Good choice, headed Status basses are nice, but the headless ones are iconic
-
Not really a fair comparison though - it's not like Behringer do any of their own R&D!
Very true. I'd also be confident that you could drop a Sansamp Bass DI down a few flights of stairs without anything but cosmetic damage, the Behringer equivalent probably wouldn't fare so well...
Thinking of an ACG LOL B
Well if you're ever in the South London area, you're more than welcome to come try my ACGs out Eude
-
I have a 33" scale 5 string ACG - not quite 32", but certainly closer than the 35" scales I'd be more used to. The B string is a thicker gauge than my usual 35" scale, but sounds better than most of the 34" scale Bs and on par with the 35" scalers I've used so I think it's more to do with the construction of the bass than anything. It's one of the bettter B strings I've played after my 37" B Dingwall! Don't know if that's any use to you or not!
+1 A 32" low B can certainly be done, but I wouldn't be confident unless it was on a bass that had been built with that in mind. ACG have made one 32" 6 string, the low on that was lovely, and I'm having a 31.5" 6 string made at the moment on the strength of that. What are you planning anyway?...

Lovely bass mate. The PB pickups Alan gets wound are something else. I've got one in two of my basses, one in each Very classy with the black hardware too, good choice. Eude
Wow that looks great, almost makes me wish I had not just bought a Warwick fretless but maybe I'll just have to find the funds for an acg bass as well!! I can see a short scale headless fretless in my mind...
Thanks mate
I was wondering if that was a customer build or a stock bass. I was secretly hoping for it being a stock one as motivation to gather all my money and buy it Lovely bass Eude, enjoy.
Thanks mate, it's a bit of a peach this one
