1. These ones are 35" >> http://www.espguitars.com/products?categories=f-series-2 A bit too metal though? Eude
2. Fantastic Si, that's a hell of a good looking bass. Congrats mate Eude
3. That was quick? I've been avoiding this thread, purely as I can't afford another bass and have a 4 string in the oven as I type this. Shame you had to move her on, but glad it wasn't too painful a process mate. Eude
4. I think if they'd made a 33" SR bass they'd have been on to a winner here. Folks tend to look to the Soundgear range as a nice full scale yet compact solution, so a 33" would've been real nice and the shorter scale would've balanced well with the shape.
5. Oh dear, and here was me pretty happy with my lot for now. Eude
6. I reckon you could get away with any Warwick to be honest, although Thumbs do cut through anything and everything VERY nicely. The only problem, at least for me with the Thumbs is the reach, if you're tall enough, or are happy to wear the bass low, they're brilliant though. There's a few for sale right now on the forum too, unfortunately you just missed a bargain price on a Dirty Blonde There's always this though, doesn't get more metal >> http://basschat.co.uk/topic/257336-warwick-vampyre-sn-4-price-drop-l850-ovno-shipped/page__p__2751447 Eude
7. What about one of those Crazy 8 cabs?... http://greenboyaudio.com/cabdetail?model=Crazy8 Trick Audio, here in the UK make them from £375 up. Eude
8. Hoots mon! That's lovely! Where/How are you building this beaut?
9. You on a Shuker build course, building a 5 string P Bass, with blocks?...

SOLD thanks

Can't believe this is still here type bump!
11. Nice one, as I thought. I'm currently using two 1x10 cabs, and I miss the low end of a 12" speaker a bit...
12. Cool! Be interested to hear how the two cabs compare with the different drivers Congrats on a very cool rig! Eude
13. This might be of interest... http://finnbass.com/showthread.php?t=10670
14. Sold a Zoom B3 to Andy, great guy to deal with, smooth and easy transaction. Thank you Eude
15. Status make 6 string flatwound sets >> http://www.status-graphite.com. Have heard good things about LeBella flats, but like Chris, I'm really not sure where you can get them here in the UK. The Thomastik ones are wonderful, but the low low tension might not be something you'll get on with and they are hellishly expensive >> http://www.thomann.de/gb/thomastik_jf_346.htm Eude
16. With them all being built custom to order, I think you'd probably be able to have some input on that stuff.
17.
Interesting point. I really do like the red grill on the LB212 because it matches well on my LB30. The LB2x12, VS2x12 and BF cab suppose to do the LB30 justice.
You know what to do Eude
18. Ashdown are open to custom work, perhaps they'll make you an LB212 if you ask nicely?
19.
And?
Epic fail on my part I'm afraid. I had a bit of a 'mare on the Saturday, arrived late and had to leave early, due to poorly child issues. Every time I made my way to the Ashdown stand it was too busy or too loud to try out something a practice amp volume. All I can confirm with some confidence is that its beautifully well made, absolutely solid and really looks the part. I hope some other folks had more luck than me and will chime in with some real world input. Hope to visit Ashdown HQ one day, perhaps I can arrange something sooner rather than later and have a go there. Eude
20.
It's really not heavy (16kg ish) and easy to lift with one hand. My only gripe is that there is no handle on the top. I say gripe, but it's really just an observation. In all other respects, this is a superb piece of kit and I loves it!
Not bad at all for a 1x15
21.
I should have explained that the pics above are of my H115 (old model). I had the tweeter added before it left the manufacturer.
That's lovely! How's the weight of it?
22. Back on a more positive note, I'm REALLY looking forward to trying one of these out on Saturday. I actually would love a little practice amp, and this would be ideal, bar the price, but given how many things it can do and that it could replace, it might still be worth pitching it to my other half Will report back after the weekend. Eude
23.
Gigging it tomorrow night - will report back.
Pics or it never happened
