Nice, I've just ordered one for my new Ashdown Mi10 cabs. Will likely get another one if it works out well, which I imagine it will based on your experience. I went for the foam upgrade too Eude

Happy now?...

Fantastic mate Unlined fretless?... Eude

The Aggie prices have gone up a hell of a lot, I guess that's what happens when you involve a distributor. Real shame, it puts their cabs out of reach for potentially quite a lot of people.

Bloody couriers. Continuing my "good luck" this year, the courier was a complete no show on Friday, hopefully something will appear on Monday.
Just checked. It appears that all Genz Benz and new Fender Rumble amps use the same Bang & Olufsen designed power sections, so Genz Benz innards are now in rumble amps :-)
Very interesting dude. I would be tempted, but I've just dropped some cash on a different setup, but I'll watch out for these with interest

"This space" should have some news on Friday
Not entirely sure about specifics. I'll find out for you. Our rep just said 'we're putting the Genz Benz innards into the new rumble range'...
Good man.

Love dat bass! Fingers crossed for you mate
Had a word with one of the guys from Fender about these at work. Theyre basically all the Genz Benz innards (components) repackaged. Looks like a really nice little range to me :-)
Does that mean the 200 model has the same power section as the old 300W Shuttle, and the 500, has the 600W Shuttle bits/bobs? Cheers, Ewan
I wouldn't trust Ashdown with these portable head, the LG and Superfly were both disasters.
I would, the MiBass heads have been reliable pieces of kit from what I have heard, plus they do a 5 year warranty on all heads now, possibly the cabs too, not sure. The LG and Superfly were a long long time ago, and if you skip through the pages on here there's plenty of other microheads that routinely fried out too. The 220 isn't class D anyway, just the 420. Eude

To answer my own question, the 420 has a Class D power section, same one as the MiBass 2.0 I'd imagine, and the 220 has a more traditional solid state power section, that's why the 220 is more than twice the weight of the 420... Eude
Aesthetics are the best I have seen from Ashdown too. Credit where it's due. Wonder how much it'll cost?
Apparently the heads will list at £399 and £299, not sure about the cabs. Should be shipping in March. I'm very impressed too. Can't be sure if these are Class D or not, they are quite a bit heavier than the usual Class D lot you see. Eude
For the record I am happy with this cab. It is far from crap ......It is less than £300 hahaha! It is not as good a an Aguilar DB112 but they are £725.... It does have a a credible low end, better than The EBS Neo 112 better than an Aguilar GS112 again not as good as a DB112 but they are £725..... It does have a low mid presence like a GS112, it is far from honky. Again it is not as smooth as a DB112 but they are £725.... I need a small light box for doing little gigs in London. I have tried the above and had a DB112 for a while they are the best 112 on the market but they are £725 and they are 28kg on the tube that is a no, although I did hump it for a while. It wont last as long as a DB but the sonic performance is quite ok and if it gets monkeyed by the suited chuffers on the tube. I Will just buy another one. It depends what you want in life...... i have expensive gear, boutique gear made by Ashdown and other manufacturers, but it dont get carted on the tube.... But it has to sound great... I bought mine early on so the tolex issue must just be the ones I looked at. A lot of people have bought them on here and no one has said anything about this... The mood seems to be positive with this cab.. But even though its less than £300, £300 is actually still quite a lot of money, I try all my stuff before I buy it, which makes me a weirdo, as seeing as everyone else on here seems to roll their gear every week, they clearly aren't..... If you want the best wide frequency 10 then you should look at a EA wizzer 10, but they are £625 I am happy to pay this type of money for a cab if It does what I want, most arent.
PM'd
Be sure you try it first. These Promethean combos have a great sound, it's hard to find a replacement that'll sound as good
Thanks mate.
Well, with two Mi10's you'll be able to gig with any drummer, i recon. Just be sure that you won't miss the top end zing that a piezzo can provide.
Thank you mate. Now I need to find out where you can buy that set up and if they'll do me a deal Cheers, Eude
Hi Eude I also have a P5110 combo and had a Mi10 that i used with my shuttle 9.0. First of all, you won't be able to use two Mi10's with the amp because the Mi10 are 4Ohm cabs, the Mi12 are 8ohm. What i can say from my Mi10 is that the cab is well put together, beautifull fit and finish, light, easilly portable, nice bottom end but the top lacks a bit (doesn't have tweeter, only a HF extention cone, like on the wizzy). It can handle some power without farting but it will only cope with a mild hitting drummer. One or two Mi12" will be a better option if you plan playing without PA or use for rehearsalls. I can safely say that the Promethean combo can handle a gig better than the Ashdown Mi10. Cheers
Thanks very much mate! They actually, very quietly, re-released the Mi10 as an 8 Ohm cab, so you can run 2 at a time now. Do you reckon 2 x Mi10s would be a decent bet, or would I end up missing the Promethean? My only reason for changing is for changing's sake, just fancy something a bit different... Eude
