1. Man, that is one sweet bass!
  2.
I've got a DHA VT1 EQ too here's a recording done with it: I'd highly recommend it, its the most important piece of kit in my rig next to my bass!
That was awesome mate! Cracking tune, and tone
  3.
Any old amp will do Nick - but the better the quality the better the sound Ideally I'd like to take a line out of the amp and then run the laptop through the PA - is that possible? Or I can just DI into the PA but a bass amp will give a better balance of thd the sound - let me know - PM if it's easier M
If I can make it, I'm happy for you to use my Promethean, or put that through my EAD cab. Eude
  4. Very nice mate! Scroll basses rock, as do 33"ers. Going to be watching this one closely Eude
  5. My only concern with the above 2 suggestions are that they're a bit old school compared to what you're used to...
  6. Not much experience here, but you could always try the custom route?... Quite a few manufacturers make custom shorties these days. There's always this too >> https://www.acguitars.co.uk/Available/8/ Another option might be to find an off the shelf shorty and have a someone either build a slim neck for you or shave down the stock one? Good luck and I hope the wrist injury isn't too bad Eude
  7.
Thanks for the tuppence eude...I've spoken to MCRuiz and will hopefully be getting to check one of the 5ers out over the weekend. The principal of the neck sounds great and it's good to know there isn't much adjustment needed. My only other concern is the sound the bass will make in terms of the clarity of the pickups, but it sounds like they should be pretty transparent and the rest is down to me I guess Tiernan
I don't think you'll be disappointed. Lots of clarity available, creates that modern J tone very easily and obviously you can dial back to get something a bit more trad if you must The variety on tap with the East EQ should have something to please everyone... Eude
  8.
Great...thanks for the answers. The asymmetric neck sounds really interesting. Tiernan
It rocks! It doesn't require any adjustment, immediately feels more comfortable than any neck you've played before. It's not really noticeable on a 4 string however, but on 5 and 6 strings it really comes into it's own. It's much more ergonomically suited to your fretting hand too so it should help keep things like carpal tunnel syndrome and other hand related problems that bassists can get at bay. Just my 2p Eude
  9. I agree with chris b, 2x 1x12s would easily outpace a crappy to medium quality 4x10, but not a Markbass one. How about trying two of their 2x10 lightweight cabs? At 33lbs, they'd be a very easy one hand lift, even with a dodgy back >> http://www.markbass.it/product_detail.php?id=37 That might get you pretty close, and it'd give you the option of taking just one cab if the gig doesn't need too much power?... Cheers, Eude
  10.
it is a 32' length scale. Patrick built a 6 string bass for himself, with a scale length at 31'. The low B sounds so huuuuuge!! :-)
Glad to hear it man, I'm a huge fan of sub 34" basses, I play 33" ones, 5 and 6 string, but would love to go a little shorter Eude
  11. Great man, worked just fine! What scale length is the non piccolo?
  12. Cool basses mate! Would love to see more, the links to your basses don't work :-( But through my limited grasp of French I've managed to navigate my way round the site. Cosme have some really cool basses on the site, love the fact they're building sub 34" scale basses too. That 29" Jivan is absolutely gorgeous! So what shape have you gone for?... Cheers, Eude
  13.
It's a 3 band Bartolini NTMB. Volume, Pan, Mids (with push pull for 2 centre freq's) and a stacked bass/treble knob. The pups are Roscoe spec'd Bart's (only available on Roscoes). A small hole will be drilled shortly to add an active passive switch that I have requested as I prefer a switch to push/pull knobs. As for the ramp - very soon I'm hoping!
Splendid
  14. Is that a 2 band EQ? Oh, and when will we see this "ramp" we've heard so much about?...

  16. sh*t Off Shep! That is gorgeous! Looks really nice and compact too, should be really comfortable to play Eude

  18. Can't believe this is still here - BUMP! If I hadn't bagged an EAD prototype 112, I'd have this off you in a second. I had an Aggie GS112 that I couriered and it wasn't too pricey to do, as I remember they even came and collected it. If you do end up posting, just avoid TNT, as they actually tend to "explode" your packages... Eude

    New Cab Day
Well I finally got round to getting the VS-112 extension cab for my Ashdown 220 Touring today. My local PMT had one in on display for £130 and I got it for £120 with a speaker cable thrown in too. I was pretty pleased I'll be trying it out at our next band practice. Oh, and to top it off, I bumped into my favourite local band outside the shop (Three Kings High: http://soundcloud.com/threekingshigh). All in all, a good day out
Pics or it never happened Nice score though Eude
  20.
Looks like a well designed cab. Would it be easier to hear on a gig if it was sitting on its side I wonder? Frank.
Aha! It tilts back, and has a fold out handle the like Promethean Combo, so it angles the whole thing upwards a bit. There's a lip on the top to stop your amp head slipping off too - incredibly well thought out design from EAD I'll try and get some more pics and some proper playing time with it soon, having a real DIY'mare at home just now, and for the foreseeable, so I'm really struggling to make any time to play Eude
  21. My old Shuker "Pub" Jazz had a slab body, with a bit of forearm contour, I never really found it uncomfortable in the slightest... Still miss it, a bit... Eude
  22. Looks great, but not a huge fan of the ash tray, they look OK on more classic styled basses, but this has a much more modern vibe to it so it looks a little out of place. Very nice take on the J Bass though
  23.
I was looking forward to giving one of these a run with Dave at our studio but you went and bought them all
Ha ha, I only bought one, Spoombung bought the other
