1.
Sold John the BassChat fretless Ibanez Precision-alike 'bike'! Previously owned by Beedster (like virtually every other Fender on BC ), Happy Jack, Pentode, aj5string and my good self, its a great confidence-building fretless (with side lines for intonation) and a cool 70s Precision vibe. Hope you enjoy it John!
Proud to add my name to that list having bought and received (very quickly it must be said) the P-alike from John! I don't plan on this going anywhere too quickly though... It's a fab instrument! Also worth mentioning, for posterity if anything, that the bass arrived perfectly in tune. Awesome!! Theo.
2. Bought a green big muff off your man. It's awesome. So much so that I'm gonna go turn my bass into a snarling monster right now! Don't hesitate to deal with Theo. You can always trust a guy named Theo. That's definitely the case because I'm one!
3. I bought a set of chrome 'F' marked fender ashtray covers from here recently but have now bought a P bass, so would like to trade them with a P set!
4.
This looks lovely, but is it just me or does the string spacing between the B and E look narrower than the others? Is it meant to be this way?
Yeah looks like the B isn't sitting in its bridge saddle properly.
5. I'm currently using a Schecter Stiletto Custom 5 and have had many people saying just how much fuller and better it sounds than my old Stingray 5!! So yeah, I'd say they're bloody excellent instruments and have no idea how they can be produced so cheaply... The EMG Hz pickups previously mentioned are great too, a really nice pure modern sound.
6. It'd probably be fine with a decent set of tubes. Would the resale value be much diminished?

Damn, you've listed this two days too late for me!! Best of luck with the sale, these look great (I would have to change the pickguard though ^_^ )
8.
I'd want to see a few more high res pics before I pulled the trigger... I realise that one looks mint but I've seen a few going for 1/2 that price and I couldn't swear that they were the MkI model; is there much difference between models?
The Magnum II has a very 80s slider EQ that is renowned for being quite noisy. The III and IV have a different, more 'marketable' body shape, and so are of no interest to me at all!!
9. I am also very interested in this and contacted the seller to find out what his best offer would be if this didn't sell. He said it was worth £1400 'every day of the week' but would take £1200 cash. Still a crazy amount. I was shocked when the one previously mentioned that I was bidding on went for £820!! Surely not worth that but I had set myself a strict max bid of £800.. which unfortunately was not enough!! I'd still jump for one (not the Magnum II, III or IV though) if it cropped up for a similar £800. I think they're well groovy and sound phat.
10. I would also suggest seeing if you can find a second hand Schecter; great basses for the money; even better than Yamahas in my opinion thanks to their tonal versatility (mostly due to the EMG Hz pickupsthey come with). I have a Stiletto Custom 5 that easily holds its own as a gigging bass too when you make that step.
11. Thanks dude but for the sake of forum efficiency I already have a feedback thread
12. I'm in love with blue again!
13. Great, thanks! How did I miss that...
14. Are there any hidden fees like you might get with American imports? Does anyone have any experience of buying stuff from Japan? Thanks in advance for any help.
15.
if you end up not selling the Russian Balls for some reason, please let me know. Either way can you tell me what is different about the Russion version compared to the US one? Ta
Sorry everything's gone! To answer your question though it is believed that the russian version is harsher (gainier?) sounding. It's also quite huge.
16. I just won this on eBay and noticed it has DC input but one which is smaller and without the 'prongy' bit. Is there something I need to buy to adapt it for use with your run of the mill 9v adapter cable?
17.
Bought a set of Pyramid Gold flats off Colin. Very quick delivery, good comms. A pleasure, thanks!
This! Nice one mate!
18. I bought his SansAmp programmable bass driver D.I. Wow. He let me haggle him down a fiver and STILL posted it special delivery. Arrived the very next day in as new condition. Do not hesitate to deal with this gent!
19. They'd probably get more selling it this way than 'Free gig bag with bass'!
20.
Agreed and thanks for saying so but you're talking me into keeping it.
Yeah it's a great price too, very cheap!
21. Great compressors these. Love the pre gain knob cranked for valvey juiciness!
