1. Check out this little beaut! And what a price! =D I love ebay... sometimes
2.
And I suppose I should add the scores on the doors

Features - 9
A pair of inputs (including one balanced),
Where's the balanced one? on the back? I really ought to spend some time with it ...!
3. That G&L is very very tempting.. Now I'm torn between that and a 5er stingray I have the possibility of getting... Gah! Too much choice!!!
4.
I wasnt aware they were playing. They arent sold out but ticketmaster is screwin up and wont lemme buy ARRRRRRGHHHHHHHH
Bad news! There's always touts... I'm sure it will be a fantastic gig. You know that when you don't even care who's supporting! Good luck getting a ticket, dude. Anymore feedback for my choons?? =]
5. After reading this thread I bought some ER20s or whatever they're called from audiorelief.co.uk Wish I hadn't bothered, as they've backed up all the wax in my ears right up as far as possible so I can now barely hear a thing and I have a gig at 6pm this evening. Incredibly frustrating. I'll give them another try, but these things f***ing feel like they're gonna hurt pulling them out... Don't feel natural.
6.
I really like the song arrangement. Very pretty. I think the rhythm ought to be turned up in the mix (12string perhaps?) - and have a guest bouzouki spot or mandolin. I'm only going by the first track, but great - really nice to listen to.
Why thangyew! There is a mandolin on the first track already... can you hear it? It is a twelve string being used, and the myspace player does none of it any justice, tends to compress everything together when you have a warm analogue mix like ours; strange! We can spend 5 minutes writing a song and 2 weeks working on dynamics =]
7.
Do I hear a John Butler Influence.? Might have to come see you guys sometime.
Glad you say so, it can only ever be a good thing to be compared to JBT; whom we're all going to see on Thursday! Woop! We're playing today at the command house in chatham at 6pm if you fancy it, it's an all day event with decent bands on from 2! be awesome to see you there!
8. My band yet on this forum? http://www.myspace.com/aliquotflow Comments welcomed
9. You know what I'm gonna say .... ... Price??
10. If I bought that purple bass for my girlfriend, I know she'd love me forever. I also know that she'd never, ever, use it! Good luck with both =]
11. It's worth mentioning that attaching another cab bumps the already massive 250W to 450W. EDIT: Not that you will desperately need it!! I'm considering getting an additional 2x10 cab, just to fill out the tone even more..
12. This is a great piece of gear, had mine for 8 months. Use it exclusively for gigs, if the venue is more demanding it will normally go through the PA or I will boost the volume with my MXR D.I.+, so I really have no need for anything bigger until I start looking into valve amps... I want an Orange!! The only qualm I had is that it is still quite boxy (about 1" difference in terms of not fitting in my boot, it travels on the back seat) and the handle could have been better designed (the rubber covering on mine is peeling away, leaving just the metal - which is starting to look a bit battered itself. I'd rather have seen a handle on the side, so you don't havta lift the amp so high up when you're going upstairs). Soundwise this amp is faultless; still haven't found my ideal tone through it, just because there's so much variety, yet when you want clarity and honesty of your bass's tone, just set everything to 0 and what comes out is still astounding! You can barely see it from behind me, as demonstrated in this pic:
13. I tend to draw more attention than any other member of my covers band. Partly because I'm 20 years younger than the rest of them, and partly because I get to let loose with them rather than play 'properly' like I do with my originals band. Yeah, I don't feel I'm missing out in that scenario. Even in my originals band I'm the only one standing up when we play, so I tend to draw more attention that way as well. I imagine it's all about how much you want to get noticed in the long run, as most punters don't know the difference anyway, hence that guy's comment. It's worse when a guitarist says something like that, but strangely I've never heard a drummer say it, nor a vocalist!! Guitarists can be right plebs sometimes, there are so many who are just completely out of tune with music, and play guitar for all the wrong reasons.
14.
Cool backdrop. Info? (you're very purdy )
Too kind It's an outdoors stage at a local venue called the command house, in chatham, kent. We're there again on saturday!!
15. If you want budget, check out Harley Benton's 5 stringers from thomann, I've used mine for gigging now for over 2 years, and has neevr EVER let me down. Just make sure you keep the battery in check! (£110 for new, mine was £80). Neck is perfect, every string is perfect taughtness. I will never need to buy another 5 string fretted bass imho, cos this one does the trick. Update the electronics and pickups at your leisure, but what comes standard is AMAZING for the price. Oh, and it looks pretty swish too (price taken into consideration, naturally!)
16. Aren't I pretty? ........ Don't answer that.
17. Thomann. For everything cheap.
18. Look into MarkBass amps and combos.
19. Thanks. No cigar in relation to ebay though.... any other ideas?
20. Thanks.. what does IIRC stand for?
21. Anyone know where I might find these elusive items, or if they even exist - I don't want chrome, nor one with a Fender 'F' on them. Cheers for any help you may be able to offer me..
22. Oo er! This is a fact: Dave Hill's third choice guitar (a tobacco sunburst les paul, and very nice to play it is too!) is sitting in my living room at this very moment. My mum's boyfriend is their guitar tech/head roadie. Woo, I done a claim to fame!
23. My granddad (Mick Durell - another double bassist jazzer type) is friends with him. Don't spose anyone's heard of him? Just out of curiosity, really!
24. Nothing wrong with throwing yourself in at the deep end (no pun intended) to get the best out of something! Go with what you feel like, but be aware that the low B will seem a bit odd to begin with unless you're used to detuned or 7 string guitars, might be more sensible to grab a bass with a high C
25. I bought this bass on a whim just before xmas, it's served me well but I simply can't use it in a live situation because of the p/up scenario. What can I do to reduce the feedback!! Anything! Please!! It sounds fantastic on recordings I've used it for, I'd like to be able to replicate that in a live situation!
