1. Daf, Do you have a demo Ehrlund you could pass round? There are a few of us up North that might be tempted if we could have a trial. ;-)
2. Don't knock the bass sound, try and play like that!
3.
I'd like to know how he got it so that I could avoid ever duplicating it.
The sound is right for the genre
4. Great horns, did you hear that sax solo about half an hour ago?
5. Takes me back a few years when I played a lot of these songs on my 75 jazz which I bought new and still own.
6. Forgot to mention that Clarky made a donation to the Dog's Trust charity Very kind and generous
7. Another packet just arrived from Clarksville All good as always
8. I've just fitted a Full Circle and used one of Rogers custom clips. It was a doddle to fit and is really solid. Anyone looking for an improved tailpiece jack socket mount should check these out. Many thanks Roger
9. Ok matey, I'll sort postage tomorrow. Off to gig now
10. Just tried the F.C. It sounds great but I'm not sure if I dare take it to gig tonight, I've just fitted the weichs and the tuning may not be stable for a day or two. Can swap for the Upton if you like, I know that sounds ok on that bass anyway. Must grab a shower and get ready for gig. Laters
11. I've just taken a bass max off my Hungarian and fitted a full circle so might be able to swap. Just need to make sure the full circle is right. Having said that I can't take it off now anyway.
12. Kolstein Heritage Great for arco & pizz
13. Innovation Honey D All blue at tailpiece G = red at peg box D = yellow at peg box A = black at peg box E = green at peg box
14. Here are before & after pics of an old spiro Weich that was ready for the bin It's now ready for action again
15. I think there's an odd Honey + some old Kolstein Heritage in my spares box that I can experiment with when I get the time. Watch this space!
16. I've yet to try the heat shrink on synthetic core strings. Wonder how they'll react to the heat gun?
17. I removed the damaged outer windings, the inner core is too thin for the 2.5mm heat shrink I got. I'll go back and get some 1.5mm tomorrow Anyway I've just put some 2.5mm over the damaged length of a Weich D, see photos I've just fitted the string to my Clifton bass and it seems fine.
18. Here are a couple of old spiros that I'm going to try the heat shrink on
19. Here is an old spiro that I rewound the silk on
20. Some brands of strings suffer more than others from fraying silks when taken on and off our basses. Last year I devised a method of rewinding synthetic silk onto some used spiros. It was quite successful but a bit fiddly. Just wondered if anyone had tried using heat shrink? I might pop down to Maplin and buy some to experiment with anyway. Cheers all
21. Here we go again Just received some strings from Clarky express delivery Always a pleasure
22. I don't believe it! I was just about to ask you if you had a set lying around I'll take them please
23.
Not when you have something that has been turned into a dirty great microphone in the middle of the stage.
Please don't talk about Artisan like that ;-)
24.
Also, I have tried using the aux in on the GK MB200 and couldn't get enough volume out of that
Sorry I missed that in your O.P. Clarky's micro might be the answer Good luck with your search
25. Maybe it's the cab I've had great results with the MB200 + Epifani UL110, either 1 or 2 for both Fender and uprights with various pickups Just have to roll off some bass & low mid If you're using an external preamp you could run it through the aux in and bypass the gk eq
