1. Don't know if this helps but I've got a Wilson K4 on an EUB and it sounds great pizz., but not arco, as with many bridge transducers.

 4. Up for sale was my Yamaha Silent Bass SLB100 I love the neck on this, it feels and balances just like a real bass, bows well and has a headphone out for silent practice. It has a custom bridge which will accept other pickups such as Underwood or Shadow etc. The frame takes off and it all fits in a custom gig bag for transportation. So this will suit players who are used to a 3/4 acoustic instrument but want to practice into the early hours without annoying the wife or neighbours, or for those gigs where space is tight either in the car or on stage. I haven't taken any pics yet but there's loads on the net. I've owned 2 of these, and owned this one twice, I'd be mad to let it go!
 5. Bump for pickup added Planet Wing now sold pending The Planet Wing Pickup The Planet Wing pickup offers high output with the full spectrum of sonic frequencies. Lowest notes have superior definition and the treble and midrange are warm without the typical harshness associated with other double bass pickups. Because of it’s balanced sound, it has proven to be resistant to feedback at high volumes. A few benefits from choosing the Planet Wing pickup are: • Strong output that delivers an intense signal to any amplifier • Warm sound with a round well-balanced tone • Equally high sound quality in both pizzicato and arco playing • Delivers high volume without feedback • Amplifier input impedance not critical • Comes with unique strip-fastener for easy snap on/off application • Accurately replicates the acoustic sound of a double bass. • Constructed of the best materials for the ultimate in hum suppression

 8. My little used Golden Bullet Great little mic for capturing the real sound of your bass. £75 posted ABOUT THE GOLDEN BULLET URB MICROPHONE The Golden Bullet URB is a condenser mic for upright bass. This microphone has been designed and purpose-built for the upright bass. We were delighted to work with Bob Gollihur to finalize the selection of this specific unit, which combines great sound with excellent feedback resistance. It is unidirectional to help avoid rumble and undesirable bleed from other instruments. Amazingly light and small (less than 1 ounce!), it clips to your bridge using a self-adhesive dual-lock fastener. A six-inch gooseneck allows for easy and sturdy positioning. When ordering the microphone system, you will receive: • The Golden Bullet URB Microphone with 2 feet of wire, high quality 1/4" jack and a special mounting clip that clamps between the A and D strings, between the bridge and tailpiece • Golden Bullet Preamp with a 1/4" input jack, and either an XLR balanced or 1/4" output (please specify). This preamp provides the 5-volt power the mic requires. The preamp itself can be powered by a 9 volt battery or 12-48 volt phantom power (phantom power only available with XLR output). You can purchase the Golden Bullet URB Solo without a preamp, but please note that the microphone itself does not include a power supply. Unless you already own a second Golden Bullet System, a dedicated microphone preamp (like the Fishman Blender) is needed. The power supply needs to be 2 wire / 1/4" input stable 5 Volt. TECHNICAL SPECS Frequency Range: 20 - 17,000 Hz Sensitivity: 7 mV/PA/1 kHz Maximum SPL: 139 dB Polar Pattern: Unidirectional Output: XLR active balanced or 1/4" line level (please specify) Mic Power Supply: 5-volt through supplied Golden Bullet preamp Preamp Power Supply: 9-volt battery or 12-48 Volt phantom power (phantom power only available with XLR output)

 20. No longer for sale - thanks for looking. Selling my son's Matchless C-30 reverb head an matching 2-12 cab. One of the finest amps he's ever owned but gig volumes are getting quieter for him these days and he's just not using it. It's all stock apart from the cab has been professionally modded to light up too. Recently re-valved and has a padded cover for each. To buy new would be approx £3700 from world guitars.com Collection preferred from Harrogate. http://youtu.be/JkuaLDECP1g

Our last gig (for now) at Balcony, Harrogate Cricket Club Tuesday 28th April 8.30 Back Door sax giant Rod Mason with the Rich Jevons Band Free entry to any Basschatters
 23. Sadly this Tuesday 28th April will be the last gig at Balcony for a while. We just can't get enough bums on seats to sustain it on a weekly basis so we're taking a sabbatical while we decide what to do next. Thanks to all those who've supported the club over the years. I'll leave the c.d.'s up for grabs and put any proceeds towards promoting future gigs. So if you can make it this week our guest is Back Door sax giant Rod Mason
