Aside from the tweaks, I think this is basically a Marshall Super Lead. I get the impression that the 150 watts is the marketing department deciding to use a slightly different scale to the usual measurements. Sure, an EQ in the loop will make it a bit more flexible, but I'd suggest that if you'd be happy using a Super Lead or Super Bass then this amp will be just the ticket- if you are after anything other than that, today's market is a big place and there are much more effective amps for basically any function beyond that roaring ol' school Marshall tone. General consensus is that the simple 100 watter is loud as hell though, if not clean or particularly deep in the low end.
I happily role of 80hz and below so I'm thinking I'm not going to be too bothered. Definitely more effective amps but not at this price point I don't believe; well not new!
Oh dear I was afraid of that. I've been Gas free for a while now but that's not helping. The EQ had better turn out to be poorly voiced for bass or Mrs Painy is gonna be getting upset with me
Can put an EQ pedal up front or in the loop........

I'm after a more dirty tone, hence the choice of this amp. Not all out Lemmy Filth but something that has girth
I'd be interested to hear how well it holds together at volume. I do like a bit of tube warmth but only really a little bit of hair. Obviously as a guitar amp this will be designed to break up into full distortion when driven but would 150W give enough headroom to keep things at least fairly clean sounding at gig volume if needed or would we be talking full on Lemmy levels of distortion at bedroom levels?
Reading up it would appear the auto biasing feature runs the tubes a bit cooler, giving more clean headroom in theory.....

Everyone's version of loud is different with some stating they need a 2k poweramp and two 4ohm cabs to play a pub. My experience tells me that, at least on paper this should cover a pub gig but we shall see!
Had one for a few years and loved it. Don't need a roqsolid dust cover for it do you?
Haha! Ace. Would save never ordering one! PM me

I've been missing the all valve sound and a lot of the bass tones I'm into at the mo are more dirty than clean. Hoping it will suffice volume wise For pub gigs with my 115. Seems a good compromise on price
According to most advice these days one simply can't gig or even jam without at least all of 400+ watts
My 200 watt AER is doing just fine

I've got too many preamps and I'm thining them out. Seeing if there is any interest in my Bass Fly Rig. Smaller than you think and loaded with toys. Plenty of info on t'internet. The gig minimum No box but it's in great condition. I'm looking for £190 delivered in the U.K. May entertain trades but not sure what! Will get pictures up later

So with a heavy heart I'm putting this fantastic combo up for sale. It's heavier than I would like (24.5kg) and the arrival of an AER Amp One means it must find a new home. UK made with a 'proper' 300 watts @ 4 ohms! Comes with a cover. VU light can be temperamental but other than that its a great combo with a very full round sound.
