Been sat on these two for a few years. Now and then I put them up for sale. People seem to want them for less than the cost of a new Mex, that ain't gonna happen, I'd rather leave them sat. Both come with fitted cases. The Blue one is nice and used, do damage, maybe a few surface marks, £399. The Gold (Seafoam) is mint as new unused £499. Ideally I'd swap one or bother for a decent Fender Jazz or Precision or a Sandberg. Any offers let me know. They are 12 or so years old. Will look the serials up again if needs be.# Can be viewed here. http://nwb.co/blog/p...ease/usa-strats

Thanks... The answers are about what I had imagined. The refret thing is about the only unavoidable one and I can't see why it devalues the instrument, but it is what is is I suppose.

I've been meaning to put this questing up for a long long time, but didn't really know how to go about it. I'll break it down to just Fender Basses for ease of answers. I see a lot of people with modded basses, and some mods just seem to put people right off. Let's say we have two basses. A 1975 Jazz and a 1999 Jazz. Both have had identical mods. Which of the following would devalue the bass, or even add value if that's the case. Stripdown and Varnish Stripdown and new paint job. New Bridge/saddle New Pickups. New Pots and wiring. Refret. Broken but Professionally repaired Neck. New tuners. New Scratch plate and knobs. That's all I can think of for now. I'll assume that any mods done would be using high end or quite decent parts. For me, a new paint job puts me right off. I'd rather a honest looking bass than a tarted up one. I also don't like the thought of the original pickups being changed unless it was like for like same brand and age where possible. I don't mind a refret as if it needs to be done, then it needs to be done, but I do see some people are really not too happy with that. I can't see a way around a new fret job if the bass needs it. How you gonna ever play it again if the frets are gone? I do like the Badass bridge/saddle stuff and think it looks way better than the Fender one, but again, I think the original needs to be there. Oh well.... let's see what people think. Regards Steve Blease.

Do you have a web site for Synergy? I'm not sure I am finding the right one.
-
So, how did you go about the process of getting what you want?
-
Yeah, 'cos they charge something daft like £175 to trash it. LOL. plus whatever else they do.

I'm seriously thinking as much as I love this bass, it's the neck and body colour that does it for me, and I have to wonder why I am wanting to pay all that much extra to have it in a trashed condidtion. I am kinda thinking, how about not smashing the crap out of it and saving some cash too.

What's the cheapest price anyone has seen for the Marlowe DK bass? In the UK? £1300 at the moment. Sorry if this double posted but I don't know where the other one went. Two USA Fender strats for sale or trade if anyone is interested. http://www.thomann.de/gb/sandberg_california_marlowe_dk.htm

Does anyone know of a link where you can pick and choose what you do and don't want on their basses? I don't like painted headstocks and they charge quite a bit extra for it. I love peal inlays, but I don't like active basses, it's just not something I like or have had use for in the past. Sandberg California TM4 SBLB sounds nice, I'd like it in white and passive. Any clues? Regards Steve.

I've been looking around for a few weeks on and off for something I'm convinced i saw a link for on here or somewhere bass related. I'm possitive I saw a Sandberg California TM4 Supreme In white with rosewood freboard and block inlays. This also did not have a painted headstock. Did I dream it? 'cos I can't find another. I don't play anymore, and I do have 2 USA Fener strats to get rid of, but I'd really have a hard time not buying that bass, I'm convinced I saw some time back.

I am curious as to what people think about a Sandberg California TM4 Vs a Fender Jazz Deluxe. With the rose wood neck and block pearl inlays. The Sandberg seems really nice and the Jazz Deluxe's just hold their prices too much for my liking. I don't know if people get what they ask for, but used and new USA Jazz's seem almost the same in price. Anyone had the money to own both who could really say how good or bad Sanberg's are?
