2. Absolute bloomin' bargain. If I didn't have a 210 and a 112 already I'd be biting your hand off! Good luck!
3. Thank you. It's a lovely thing - just find myself grabbing a Sandberg and a Fender in preference. It needs some love
4. Here is my Lakland Skyline 44-64. Made in 2021, it was an impulse purchase that hasn't had the love it deserves and has got left on the shelf somewhat. It's a beauty, and every part of me wants to take it out and play it, but it never seems to be the right bass. Maybe this is due to its relatively high output compared to my other basses. The only modification I've made is Schaller strap locks, which will stay on the bass. The head stock chip was on the bass when purchased, but I've touched it up with the right paint, and it looks good. Everything else is stock. It's strung with D'Addario XL 40-100 and plays nicely. Weight is 12lb according to my scales. I have a box and can ship, or I can meet up (within reason) around Spalding / Peterborough.
5. Where you at Fred? I'd deffo be interested, but distance makes the amp grow heavier...
6. I have this problem - limited feeling in my fingertips and could easily take my own eye out...
7. I was hoping to pick the brains of the great and good of this site. I have MIM 2010 Jazz. I replaced the stock strings with D'Addario flats last year. There was a little more string tension, and I attempted to adjust the action. TBH I didn't get a great result and the bass was put to one side. It’s been a crazy year and my main bass has sufficed. I’ve now got the bass out, determined to make things right and fix the silly action issue… I first changed to a spare set of Rotosound strings and set about a set-up. The problem is that I just don’t seem to be able to adjust the neck at all. The Allen screw turns, but nothing seems to happen. It’s almost as if the truss rod has become detached. So, questions are… is this what has happened, or am I missing something obvious? And (obviously) what can be done about it? I’m okay with general maintenance, and have put together a couple of bitsa basses, but this has me at a loss.
8.
I have always used 2000 grit wet and dry. Moisten it a little and just rub it up and down the neck. Takes about 20 secs and it just takes the hard shine off really. Leaves the neck smooth and super fast to play. Wipe off any residue with a clean cloth and you're done. Piece of pi$$.
I'm the same... a very fine grit for a short time than a little polish. It feels lovely.
9. Absolutely gorgeous! I'm lucky enough to own a similar Shuker Jazz and it is ALL you will ever need from a bass. Good luck with the sale, this is a bargain
10. Free bump. I have one of these... an awesome sound machine. It totally growls. Good luck with the sale - it's worth every penny!
11. Just ordered mine. Can't wait to give it a go, but sadly we'll all be waiting until September now. Had to go with burst... looks the business.
12. I lived in a terrace a few years ago... paper-thin walls and a neighbour who complained. I bought a limestone slab from the DIY shop, then stuck o piece of heavy foam on the base. I put my amp on it. It had no real impact on the sound, but cut the resonance by 95%... not sure how to translate this to upright.
