  1. Huge Sandberg fan here too! And it was the necks I fell in love with also. I've had various BB's, although not any of these P series. They're great basses, and obviously will be superb quality, but the neck profile isn't the same (comfortable, but a bit 'fuller' in my experience). The BB would also likely be heavier. If you really like the Sandberg necks, but want something more like a BB, I'd be looking at a California VT or something, with Alnico V pickups. The Alnicos in my TT5 passive are so much more toneful than the Delano style pickups from Sandberg.
  2. Which ironically became a mainstream genre in the 90's πŸ˜… @BigRedX has the origin story nailed, but at some point 'Indie' seems to have become a cover-all for guitar band pop/soft rock.
  3. You can apply it smooth, the stuff I've got is satin/matte kind of finish. If you use the textured roller it's much more.... Textured! πŸ˜… Just kinda wondered if that would look cool on a bass, or just rubbish? πŸ€£πŸ€”
  4. Great to see you here Stuart! Sorry to ask an idiot question right of the bat (someone's got to do it, right?), but do you have any ideas where I might find a pair of port rings for an old TE cab I'm refurbing? Thanks πŸ™
  5. Other options... Also, having just refinished a speaker cab, I'm wondering if anyone's ever repainted a bass with Tuff Cab! πŸ˜… Amazing stuffπŸ˜πŸ‘Œ
  6. I think the pickups in the 43X series are a huge improvement on the 41X and 42X series (unpopular opinion I know), wish I hadn't sold my 435. Personally I have a soft spot for the late 90's/early 2000's BB's, here's my BBN5 I customised
  7. That's stunning man, congrats! ❀️πŸ”₯πŸ‘Œ
  8. Looks great dude! πŸ‘ŒπŸ”₯❀️
  9. Damn, that looks really cool! Wish they did a 5 string though! 😩
  10. Very good! How much are they retailing for? I really wish they'd do a 5 string Electra.... πŸ˜’
  11. Ariane Cap - Music Theory for the Bass Player, and Ed Friedland - Building Walking Bass Lines are both really good books. I have a bunch of good books, the problem is I don't work through them! πŸ™ˆ
  12. I don't know about removing the marks, depends how deep the staining is I guess. I'd probably try lightly sanding with 600 grit to start with and see how it looked. Otherwise I guess it's going to have to be something quite solventy but very clean - maybe Isopropyl Alcohol or something? Needs to be something that'll flash off quick and not soak in or make the board 'wet'. I've used IPA on rosewood and finished maple fretboard many times to clean them, but never on unfinished maple. If you want to protect the board afterwards, I highly recommend Osmo Polyx; super easy to apply, very durable but thin finish, available in 4 different textures (I use semi-matt). Good luck! 🀞
  13. You'd have to just check the number of holes and spacing measurements. Even if it's different, the new one should cover them, you'd just have to plug the holes and re-drill for the new ones. What is it about the Maruszczyk bridge you don't like?
  14. Good suggestions! My first ever bass (which I still have), a Squier P, I resprayed in a VERY similar colour to that!
  15. Another option.... Kinda semi-seriously considering sticker bombing it.... 🀭 Or keep it black, give it a good polish up, and maybe at some point switch the hardware for gold... πŸ˜ƒ
  16. I always wanted one of these when they came out, stunning instruments! Great score! πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ”₯
  17. I've kinda found the same, back when I used to play a lot of guitar I preferred the Jazz III size/style picks, but on bass I prefer standard size (Tortex 1.14mm specifically). I can use either for either quite happily, but I do like having a bit more to grab onto for bass. I can't get on with the big equilateral triangle size ones though, they feel really awkward in my hands! πŸ˜…
  18. No worries! Easy enough to make the hole slightly wider if needs be anyway. I'm not sure if the recess for the mini toggle looks slightly smaller, but you can always use a smaller knob there. πŸ‘Œ
  19. I wish I had the money to try it, maybe one day! ❀️
  20. That's lovely! 😍πŸ”₯ Aways been curious to try one of these. GLWTS πŸ‘
  21. Curiosity got the better of me, mine measures 114cm hole to hole. Make of that what you will πŸ€·πŸ˜…
  22. I have to have my strap average to slightly higher I guess, if it's too low I just find it unnecessarily difficult with my fretting hand, and increased strain. I'd rather be comfortable than look cool πŸ˜…. I've never actually measured how long it is though (matron), but I'm curious now....
  23. All painted/shielded unfortunately....
  24. Yeah same, really regret selling mine 😩
  25. Might be worth dropping Yamaha Music UK an email, just to see if there's spares still available (doubtful), but otherwise you've got 4 holes there, so any preamp that has 4 pots. Either vol/blend/2-band EQ or a 3 band with stacked treble and bass I guess. I really like the Glockenklang preamps, but Aguilar also really good and easy to install.
