1. Thats a good idea! Although i have already asked opinions of my bandages, etc. but don't necessarily agree!
2. Is anyone else here REALLY indecisive? I've been trying to decide on the spec for a new Sandberg bass for AT LEAST 6 months now and it's driving me mad! For certain reasons i need to decide by Feb 1st, and can't come to a conclusion!
3. stunning and very sexy! Massive sandberg fan here too, i dont think there are better basses at this price point. GLWTS!
4. Gorgeous! And very tempting as you're in the same town as me...... i did have something very specific in mind, but this has put me all about now!
5. The TM basses have a coil split switch for the humbucker dude, so you can get that thinner, traditional jazz bass sound if you want. Fwiw, I think it sounds much better with the humbucker at the bridge.
6. Oooh, if this had a maple board..... seriously though, incredible basses! I have an ebony fretboard pin my sandberg Ken Taylor, and it's by far the nicest fretboard I've ever played. GLWTS man
7. Sold elsewhere.
8. Withdrawn...... it's just too damn good!
9. Really excellent, loud and lightweight cab here! When I got this, I was amazed how compact it is for a 4x10"! Really big solid bass response, and projects very well. The three tweeter settings are very useful and useable, enabling everything from old school thump to amazing clarity and detail. Comes complete with Roqsolid fitted cover, and push in casters. Weighs around 30kg, measures approx. 600x600x375mm. This cab is now surplus to requirements, hence the sale. Collection from Hereford, or will consider meeting halfway within a sensible distance. Sale only please, no trades. Pics here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/cSjq79LA2EPitRJN2 Thanks for looking! 😃🖒
10. Bumparoo! Really top flight basses here guys, incredible craftsmanship, tone and sublime playability. Make me an offer!
11.
Nice Sandberg's. Oli is a top man, deal with him in total confidence.. Have a bump on me.
Thanks Andrew! They are corkers indeed, the playability is just sublime! well be sad to see them go, but need to find them a new home asap.
12. Hi folks, Most of you will be well aware that this is one of the very best cabs on the planet. Hand built by Marc Vanderkley, it features 2 12" drivers and an adjustable hf horn. It is rated at 600w,4 ohm, but will comfortably handle more power, as long as you're sensible. I tested several of the very best cabs before choosing this (Bergantino, Barefaced, etc.), but this was the clear winner for me! Fantastic clarity, punch and definition, but also a very neutral and honest sounding cab, it really does seem to make the absolute best of whatever you feed into it. It's in really excellent condition, and comes with a roqsolid cover and also a custom made isolation pad, which matches exactly the footprint of the cab. I love this cab dearly, but have a need to move it on. I'm located in Hereford, but happy to meet within a reasonable distance. Let me know if you have any questions, pics are here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/yrTmX684UJr6s0Q13 Thanks for looking!
13. Well, been and picked it up this evening! Couldn't crank it in the guy's house at 9pm on a school night but seems pretty good! Nice and tight and punchy. Did tweak it up loud for a second just to make sure the speakers were okay. Band rehearsal on weds will be the real test! Very impressed with how light and compact it is, a far cry from my old trace elliot cabs! Thanks for your help all!
14. Bump up the jam, bump it up, while your feet are jumping!
15. Thanks for the feedback guys, certainly sounds like they're good! It's an 8ohm one I'm looking at, so I'm just hoping that my shuttle only delivering 500w would be enough.
16.
That classic 5 is lovely, I have a classic 6 up for sale at the moment, great basses. I've simply decided 5 strings is what I'm most comfortable with. glwts!
Thanks man, it really is gorgeous, and quite unique! Will be sad to see both go, but needs must.
17. Bump! Forgot to say that both come with their original Sandberg gig bags, and UK delivery can be arranged. Really open to offers, so hit me up!
18.
They're great cabs. Fairly lightweight, robust. The horn function, while basic, works well to pick up high frequencies. I think the rating is 1000w. I pair mine with the matched 2x10 for different applcations. Both my cabs are on the sale board; I won Barefaced cab last year and that's become my go to enclosure.
They do seem very good, do they actually 'sound' good?
19. Hi folks, Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with the Hartke hydrive 410 cab? It seems like a really good cab, and Vbic certainly likes them, but grateful for any opinions you guys can share. Eyeing one up to go with my shuttle 9.2, seems like it should be a good pairing on paper..... Thanks guys!
20. Well, thoroughly a/b'd it with my current rig this morning.... very difficult! It's astonishingly good considering the size, weight and price! BUT, although it's got a lot of bottom end, it lacks definition and tone at the bottom end. Also, although it is loud, at about the level I played at least weekend, it seemed like it was starting to stress the speakers, leading to a further degradation in tone. I turned it up more, as I'd probably have to in a big room, and it's loud, but not particularly pleasant. Mind you, my bass is very high output active 5.... I walked away but still kinda undecided.... think I'd need to try it with the band to be sure, but that's not possible unless I buy it.
21. Link to better pics hopefully! https://photos.app.goo.gl/KZiZyBCLYXOoTBA93
22. Sorry guys, don't know why the pics are small and sideways! :/
23. Hi guys, This is really hard for me to do.... both of these incredible instruments were custom orders to my specs..... but I have a need to rationalise my gear and will allocate some of the money towards a new sandberg! Going from two to one basically. The Basic Ken Taylor 5 has an alder body finished in virgin white with matching headstock, and I upgraded to an ebony fretboard, which was costly, but is by far the nicest fretboard I have ever had on any bass, it really is sublime! The dual humbuckers have a coil split switch (outer coils) so a very versatile bass. Pretty sure I bought this one in 2012, and it is in great condition (I REALLY look after my gear!) The Classic Booster 5 is from 2014 if I remember. I upgraded to a swamp ash body and three band eq, and also a custom request of a plain headstock, which has a black accent around it. I specified a light piece of swamp ash, and this beauty weighs in at around 3.7kg, very comfy! The soapbars are wonderful, punchy but with lovely clarity and definition, kind of like a 'fat' super jazz. There is a tiny ding on the upper bout, but other than that is in excellent condition. Some lovely grain on the fretboard too! Both basses have a pull pot passive bypass on the volume pot, and in passive mode the treble pot acts as a traditional tone control (treble roll off). Great range of lovely tones from both. Both are an absolute joy to play, and it's very hard to say goodbye, but I hope they will go to someone who loves them as much as I do. Due to the options, both would be around £1500 each new, so I'm looking for £1100 each which I think is pretty reasonable. Open to sensible offers but no trades please. (Unless you have a cream/tort/ maple cali vm5 😜) Any questions, please ask! Edit: pics here, had issues uploading! https://photos.app.goo.gl/KZiZyBCLYXOoTBA93
24.
Thamks, Thats just backline. Just for the record my other live rig is a Tonehammer 500/ or Genz shuttle 6.0 through a Genz neo 212t and I prefer the Rumble for what I do.
Well it sounds excellent! I hope to be impressed in the shop tomorrow. How have you found it for durability/reliability?
25.
Just got one of these. Really portable & really loud but inherently boomy as hell I'm finding. I'm not the only one as well, this opinion pops up a fair bit. Definitely not replacing my Genz gear, yet at least.
Interesting, I'm hoping to replace my Genz/Vanderkley rig with this, but I accept that it's not going to sound as good. I've come to realise recently that NO ONE actually gives a damn about me having a high quality sound except me.... band mates and punters included. As long as it sounds good and loud enough, no one cares. I played the last half dozen songs of our set on Saturday night with my overdrive pedal on accidentally, and no one batted an eyelid.
