Hi there, just fyi, I can't see the pics from (from my smartphone). Google says there's something up the URL. Maybe check that? All the best, P.
Hi there, Sorry, been having some technical difficulties! Try it now, should work okay. Thanks for looking.

***ERROR MADE IN PRICE ENTRY - SHOULD BE £[s]450 £425[/s] now £395ono!*** Apologies Now might also be interested in a trade for the right 5 string bass too, not really looking to add cash though Extremely rare USA Peavey Grind 5 String bass. These were built in a very small quantity in c.2002 (featured in the 2002 Peavey catalogue (north America)), I think as a forerunner to the cheaper east Asian Grind BXP models that followed. There were so few of these made, it is extremely unlikely you will ever see another one, especially in the UK. This is a high quality bass, on par with any of the USA Peavey Cirrus or Millennium models. High quality hardware, hum cancelling pickups,18v active eq with passive bypass (and tone control), monorail bridge saddles, and probably the slimmest, fastest 5 string neck I've ever played. The bass is in Immaculate condition, there is no fret wear, and no dings in the body. The only issue is that part of the shaft for the push/push pot which engages passive mode has broken, although it still functions fine. I think the bass is probably worth more than this if I'm honest, but I'm looking for a quick sale. Recently set up, with a fresh set of Dunlop Super Brights. 040" -. 120" strings. Located in Hereford. Thanks for looking, and let me know if you have any questions!
Hey no probs thanks for the reply. Just out of interest whats your typical setup and how are you setting it
I usually have the gain at about 1-2 o'clock, the level at about 11 o'clock, Compression at about 10 o'clock, and the attack around 12 o'clock. I just leave it on...... it works for my setup and playing style anyway.
Hey @TRBboy how did you get on with it, I've just ordered one myself I got it a £49 which looks like a steal
Hey man, sorry for the delay. At £49, it's by far the best comp out there for the money. Tbh, for £100 it possibly would be! I've had more since January and it's incredible. Exactly what I was looking for; a great optical comp which can add subtle compression, add a bit of girth, and really make the higher strings cut through strongly in the mix, with no perceptible losses and quiet operation. The controls do interact with each other a lot, particularly the gain control, which will affect the response of the other controls considerably. You will need to spend a little time tweaking to start with, but once you hit your sweet spot, you'll love it!

***SOLD*** Yamaha BB605 in black, with NE-1 preamp
How would you say this compares to TRB1005 (Korean made) in terms of playability and general quality?
Well I used to pretty much exclusively play a TRB1004 & a TRB1005. Not certain that they were Korean, but they were some of the earlier 100x series. The BB is different, but familiar. On the face of it, it looks less 'fancy', but you can tell that the quality of materials is there. The fretboard is a lovely piece of rosewood, and the alder body is lightweight but extremely resonant. The natural feel and tone of this bass is really superb. As for playability, it's a yamaha! Seriously though, it is such a joy to play very easy, and instantly homely and familiar to me. It's much more compact feeling and lighter weight than the TRBs, really very ergonomically friendly. To be honest, I wish yamaha still made this type of BB. I think for me, these pretty much encompass all of my favourite things about yamaha basses. Starting to think I'm gonna regret this! -

Hey folks, Up for sale is my sexy black Yamaha BB605. These basses were launched as a mid-range version of the Nathan East signature model, and feature the outstanding and much-revered NE-1 preamp that the signature model had to too. This bass is just incredible, lightweight, compact body, very easy to play and a lovely comfortable, fast neck. It sounds amazing, and I think in a blind test most people would swear it was some sort of boutique super-jazz. It's by far the best bass at this sort of price point I've owned or played, and I think whoever buys it will be very pleased. Not sure how old it is exactly, I assume late nineties but could be wrong. As such, there are signs of use, but really the only significant one is a nasty scratch by the bottom horn (see photos), other than that it's in very good shape for its age. The neck is lovely, and there is virtually no sign of fret wear. It's currently string with Dunlop Super Brights 45 - 125. I'm looking for £xxx or nearest offer, to include next day UK courier delivery (UK mainland). I have priced this to sell quickly, but please pm me if you want to make an offer. Thanks for looking! Here's the spec from yamaha: This BB Series 5-string model features a built-in NE1 Parametric EQ and the BBNE2 Nathan East style body silhouette. ・Nathan East Sculpted Body Design ・Solid Alder Body ・5-String Maple Neck ・Rosewood Fingerboard ・24 Frets ・Single Coil Pickups ・Nathan East NE-1 Parametric EQ ・Diecast Chrome Tuners/Hardware

Yeah, I did actually buy a bass driver in the end, and although it was nicely put together, the sound was really not what I was hoping for. I want to just say how helpful Steve at Raygun is too. It was definitely pretty transparent, but rather than being a natural overdrive it sounded more like a fuzz pedal with the gain turned down. It seems like the fuzz is sort of 'on top' of the bass sound rather than blended with it. I found that the growl switch sapped all of the bottom end and guts of my sound; I think it's really only any use if you're after that 'battery amp' type of effect, which is quite specific. I was looking for more of a natural overdrive than a fuzz or distortion. I don't know whether the signal from my basses was too hot for it maybe, although they are only 9v. Maybe it would work better with a passive bass. Steve was very helpful throughout, and let me return the pedal for a refund.I think that Raygun FX pedals are good quality, the bass divert just wasn't what I was looking for, or what I expected.

Thanks for all of the input guys, but I was actually looking at a specific instrument which Mark was selling on eBay. I didn't end up winning it, but never mind. There seem to be some pretty contrasting opinions about RMI basses..... I'll certainly keep an eye out for new models though, I think there are some launching very soon.
Oh man, no SR650 in the UK? I had basically sold myself one in the last 24hrs.
I think the SR750 will be available here, some retailers are showing it in their sites.

Nice selection, it's nice to see one of the big manufacturers thinking outside the box a little bit and not just sticking to 'same as last years model in a different colour' syndrome. I appreciate that most of the ideas are borrowed, but..... I'd be keen to try those P/J SR650/750 basses!
So no TRB then?
Weird huh? When I joined Basschat about 5 years ago, 2 of my 3 main basses were TRB's. That all changed not long after when I bought a Sandberg and then ended up selling everything else!

I've actually got 4, but I only count it as 3 really.... The 4th one is my first bass (Squier P), which lives in the loft and is unplayable. Sandberg Basic Ken Taylor 5 Sandberg Classic Booster 5 Yamaha BB605
