1. Many thanks for that cloudburst! I kind of thought they'd bea little lighter than that due to the thin body, but not exactly heavy nonetheless. How does the the 605 compare to your 1205? If you don't mind me asking, how come you moved the 605 on? Cheers.
2. Not a popular model then.......
3. Just wondered if anyone's got any opinions about these, and also if anyone knows what the weight is? Cheers!
4. How much does it weigh?
5. Maybe I'm to easily pleased, but I think the bass sound is great and they're all giving an incredible performance! The singer on the right is a little weak on her own, but the one one the left is unbelievably talented.
6.
He should be playing a musicman ! The jazz isn't cutting it for me , also the mix isn't great I can't extract any decent bass sound from my system, I love chic but the drummer is wrecking it for me , he's playing too much , great to see Nile doing his thing though
Sounds pretty good on my tv. I'm not much of a chic officionado so I don't know what the bass should sound like, but I think his sound is really nice. I think it's an Atelier Z.
7. Wow. Just wow. Friggin amazing! The bass playing is incredible, especially when he gets chance to rip it up a bit! Check it out
8.
I played a five string Overwater recently when I bought my Markbass combo as the guy selling it had one. Very high quality build and an incredibly low (too low for me) buzz free action (it was tuned down a semitone too!). I found the neck to be very slim from front to back but pretty wide across the fingerboard, the exact opposite of my Spector Euro 5 LX. Played a few other Overwaters over the years & they've all been quality instruments.
Thanks Rhys, that's interesting. Your description is pretty much how I like my necks, fairly slim front to back but with fairly generous string spacing. Hmmmmm.......
9. Btw, Harry: that bass is looking lovely!
10. Thanks for all the responses guys, very helpful! I'm surprised that the necks been described as chunky, I always imagined they would be very slim and modern. I guess the other thing is that I kind of went off 35" scale length. I just think that the bass in my op is gorgeous, and great value for a UK hand built bass.
11. Gutted for you dude! I guess it would be difficult to patch up because of the finish. It would be worth taking it to a really good Luther though and see what they can do.
12. I know, I know, I should go and try one out...... I've never had the opportunity to try one, but I've always liked the look of them, and there's one I'm kind of smitten with at the moment: http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/OW_INSP_5_CB.html I think it looks incredible! I just wondered if any of you guys who have had experience with these sort of Overwaters could share your experiences of them, and tell me how they play, how the neck feels and what they sound like? Ta!
13. Why are we resurrecting a thread that's over 3 years old again?
14. I think the ATK's are great basses, provided you get on with a neck that feels like trying to wrap your hand round a 300 year old oak tree! I used to have a special edition ATK300, and whilst doing a professional panto the sound engineer said it sounded way better through the PA than either my USA Jazz or Yamaha TRB!
15. Order a Custom spec Sandberg Basic Ken Taylor 5 and have a load of change left!
16. That's lovely. I hope to be able to afford a Custom finish one day, but no time soon..... Enjoy!
17. That's lovely. I hope to be able to afford a Custom finish one day, but no time soon..... Enjoy!
18.
Hey guys. I'm a new Sandberg owner. A MarloweDK is white. A great bass
Very nice Christian! I have not seen one of these before, I thought the MarloweDK was only available in the fiesta red colour with the graphic. What is the 12th fret inlay? Hope you enjoy it!
19.
Very cool looking bass.
Thanks man, I love it! Comfortable, great tone, and really inspires my playing.
20. If you want to hear my Basic Ken Taylor, here's a link to some sample tracks I did with Hereford Soul Choir a little while ago: https://soundcloud.com/herefordsoul/sets/hereford-soul-choir-sample

22.
Yeah, but for 15 quid a can, and a bit of sandpaper, you can do that particular mod, incredibly easily.
Personally, I wouldn't even bother with the can! Any cheap basses I've had in the last few years that suffer shiny/sticky neck syndrome get a light but even rub down with 1200 grit paper. Goodbye stickiness, hello silky smooth!
23. Maybe post a pic of said balls up and see if anyone's got any other ideas? If its large enough to require that amount of sawdust I would probably try getting an offcut of ash and crafting a piece the right size and shape. Always looks better if it's do-able
24.
Sandberg just sent me these pics of my California TM4, soon to arrive...can't wait!
Very nice man! Is it an ebony board? Makes me want to order another one.......
25. Very nice colour dude! Is it a mex or USA? Did my old baby stay within the Basschat fold? Hope you enjoy it!
