BAX £179 when I looked last night 👌
-
Just received one yesterday from Sam, hoping to get stuck into it later 😊👍 I think the Darkglass drive is going to be perfect to me. I'm hoping I'll be able to ditch my B3, ODB3 and Bass DI+ off my board

New Charvel Pro-Mod San Dimas colour & tonewood options
TRBboy replied to BillyBass's topic in Bass Guitars
Shame there's not as much choice of colours in the 5 string version..... Love the blue and satin black! 😍👌 -
I've done it both ways, I've been in an originals band playing gigs all over the country where there was proper sound, Ava I've been in ones where we were playing closer to home where we almost always had to haul our own system. I don't think there is a one size fits all really, especially with original material.

Sounds like it will be a winner! I'm not quite sure if those buttons are going to be really awkward to press with your foot though, but I guess it's no different to the setup on the B2 Four

Yeah some of them can be a little heavy, especially the ash models. The ones I ordered to spec, I asked for a lightweight slab for the body. I upgraded to swamp ash on the Classic Booster 5 I had, and that was the lightest, it came in about 3.7Kg. My current TT5 Passive is pretty light, and that's alder, but I did specifically ask for a light piece. If you've bought new, resale value isn't great, especially on the non-fender models. I sold my Classic Booster for almost half of the new list price. Really wish I'd kept that one, it was incredible

Hey everybody! It's taken me a while to get around to finishing this, but finally done! The only piece missing was the port rings. @SamIAm kindly scanned the one I had, and 3D printed me a pair! I've cleaned and sanded them up, made a foam gasket for the back side of the flanges, and added a decal to the front, just for fun! 😊 Thanks so much for your help with this project Sam!

They're both decent basses, but you need to try them really to see what works best for you. I've been playing Sandbergs around 13-14 years now. I've had 9 of them altogether I think (or maybe 10 🤔), various different models, 4 custom orders. Prior to that, my number one was a '97 USA standard jazz I bought brand new and swore I'd never part with. Well, my first Sandberg ruined it completely! My trusty jazz just felt cumbersome and awkward to play by comparison. So I sold it not long after, to buy another Sandberg. And that's the thing for me with Sandberg, there's just something about the feel and playability that's better than anything else I've played over the years, even far more expensive basses. I'm not a huge fan of the Delano style pickups, my current bass is a TT5 passive, with Sandberg Alnico V pickups, and it sounds sublime. But pickups can be changed easily. That's why I always prioritise feel above all else.

That doesn't surprise me, Yamaha's 'show deals' at the UK Guitar Show were the same prices that all the retailers normally sell at!🤣
-
I guess it'll be the equivalent of whatever they've done with the guitar version. I assume they'll upgrade?!
-
@Al Krow I just emailed zoom, and although there's no precise date, they're expecting the MS-60B Plus to drop June/July sometime. 👌
-
I thought that! When I saw the $ price, I expected it to be about £150 over here!
-
I thought the effects sounded generally good, but I guess it would be nice to hear someone run through some sounds they've configured in more of a song context. I'm gonna hold off and see how I get on with this B1 Four I think. Is there a release date for the MS-60B Plus yet?
-
Oh okay. I don't use delay anyway, so it doesn't matter to me 😅
-
I THINK you can, because they're denoted by different colours, so are separate effects, just controlled from the same knob. I think you can only choose one of each colour band effect in each patch.
-
I haven't managed to watch it yet, but someone has done a longer video on YouTube
-
I'm in exactly the same boat. I want a neat package with great sounds, but I don't actually need much, only a few key sounds really.
-
This is perfect timing, just as I'm looking at the Line 6 range and trying to decide what would be best. I only really use a few sounds, and this looks too have all the essentials covered, PLUS no complicated menus etc. I just can't fathom why Yamaha didn't bring it to the Guitar Show last week, even if the official launch wasn't until yesterday? 🤷
-
It looks/sounds fantastic, but as a pretty light effects user I can't even start to consider spending £1500 on a unit, only to use 3 sounds. Definitely looks like about the best thing on the market at the moment though, if that's what you're looking for.
-
Wow, that actually really appeals to me! I have a lot of questions though, and the website is down 😅. There's 21 presets, but I'm assuming you can save your own too? Can you navigate through them using the foot switches, or do you have to use the knobs? 🤷 I will find out ...
-
Will get this in the calendar! Couldn't make it last year, but would really like to come 😊

I was really impressed at the guitar show to be fair, the neck is beautiful. It felt better quality than the EHB I tried, well the knobs were solid on the Cort at least! Spacing felt wider than I expected, but I don't mind that. It was only let down by the strings tbh, I don't know what they are, but they felt rough and horrible.
