1.
What if another BCer bought it on your behalf?
I don't even know who owns it now
2. You're probably right. It crossed my mind as well.
3.
Stick with the Precision, Ms. Undead! I sold mine (as you spotted) - foolishly - and ended up dumping everything and getting another!
I honestly love the Precision. But that Ibby was something else.
4.
This, I don't understand.
You're not the only one.
5. Ack, what's the point? Cheers for the ear guys
6.
Thomastik Infeld flats....fabuolus tone, low tension, problem solved.
And £70! Yikes.
My experience of chromes is that they become a bit more pliant as the break in - stick with them!
This is a set I got used - I don't know how much use they had before me though :/
7. I've just switched to chromes 105-45 because I prefer the sound of those to the rounds I was using. But the higher tension is making my fretting hand ache. My action is still identical to before (about 2mm at the 12th) and relief is the same (about half a mm) so there can't be that much more tension. I tried lowering the action but any lower and I can't play above the 15th fret due to choking. Can't get my neck dead straight no matter what I do. Is the extra tension and aching all in my head, or is it something that I'll get used to? They sound so good that I don't really want to go back to rounds.... would a lighter gauge of the same string help, maybe 40-100? Thanks
8. Wow, these are all such great tracks! But there was one that stood out above the rest for me. Won't say who though
9. I felt no change but that's likely down to my lack of testicles. The bass does look very nice though!
10. I can't grab picture links from my phone but here's a thread I made for my NBD a while back with pics. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/179045-wanna-show-off-my-pride-and-joy/
11. Damn. I've been watching and lusting after this on ebay, but I've got approximately half the cash I need to buy it. Still trying to scrape the rest together!
12. HELLO! I do like a bit of GAK. Bought stuff from you lot a few times. Welcome
13. Welcome! Yeah, let us know what you're thinking about getting, we're nosy
14. I'm finding BC almost impossible on my iPhone this evening hope it's all good soon.
15. Having thought about it, if money was no object, mine would be... Precision Sand blasted swamp ash body, black oil finish b/w/b pickguard bolt on satin maple neck with glossy maple fretboard modern C shape, 9.5" radius fretted side dots only hi mass bridge (like the USA standard) hipshot ultralight tuners brass nut, 42mm nut width SPB-2 pickup passive knurled chrome knobs Errr, I can't think of anything else. EDIT: and this
Oh, and can you make sure it weighs less than 9 pounds and has got a nice tight neck pocket . And no annoying fretbuzz . And that the trussrod works properly .
16.
Edit. I had a look at Evil Undead's tab and it's good, but it's only for the first half of the solo. The second half is different, although you could repeat the first half.
Aye, it should be different but I do repeat the first half, pretty much anyway
17. This is what I play. I couldn't tab the rhythm but its easy enough to figure that bit out. It's definitely not right but sounds fine ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------5--6--7---5--6--7------------------------------------------ -7-----7--5-------------------------4--5--6--7-----7--5--7--8--9--9----- ----0---------------------------------------------0--------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -10--12--0--4--5--7------7--5---------0--0--4--5--0--4--5--7---7--5- -------------------------0---------3--2--------------------------------0--- --------------5--6--7--------------------------------------------------------- ---5--6--7------------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------4--5--6--7------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ EDIT: just realised this doesn't look right on the mobile version so if anyone's thinking WTF? that would be why! Seems ok on desktop version though.
