1.
The next on my C $$ is very satisfying. Its nice and thin and the wood has a gorgeous transparency/shimmer to it.
You call that neck thin? I loved that bass but the neck to me was like a baseball bat - jazz nut but huge front to back. Totally agree about the wood though, the shimmer is almost 3D. How is my old girl anyway? Treating you well?
2. Not my intention to derail but just wanted to show you what I want. I can't have it as it's nearly a grand but that makes me want it more. http://static.zoovy.com/img/ramh/W800-H753-Bffffff/7/blackjack_sls_solo6stbb_a_1.jpg
3.
Why not go with the music theory instead of pictures? You can work out your own fingerings
I try. But I really struggle with theory. I had a teacher for a while but I just couldn't afford it any more. I've got the Bass Guitar for dummies book and even that got too complicated - I must be a real dumbass.
4.
What instrument is this for? Where did you get the chart?
It's meant to be for bass. it's this one http://images.esellerpro.com/2378/I/236/64/acatalog_Bass-Guitar-Chords-Chart-X.JPG
I think it's a harmonium chart from India.
I lol'd
5. I know. I've also found another two errors. FFS - I'm trying to learn this stuff and having a chord chart that's full of sh*t isn't helping
6. Yeah but above the chart it says ACEG on both
7. It gives this as A 7th Sus. Except there's no C in that chart that I can see. And it gives this as an A minor 7 Now I'm no theory buff, but how can a minor 7 and a sus. 7th have exactly the same notes?
8. Exactly. The one in the OP only has 4 strings. Cheap tat.
9.
Have you guys been drinking? It's a Fender American Standard Jazz Bass mate, you need to wake up!! ****ing Nora...
Don't be ridiculous. Who the hell are Fender?
10. Wow, and I thought my action was low!
11.
Its funny to me how some are talking about hate for altered tunings. Its just a tuning. It's not like they've pissed in your face or slept with your girlfriend.
True. But it's a pain in my back passage.
That's what you know! If that open G tuning shows it's face around here again it'll be leaving on a stretcher!
YEAH!
12. Ok then, here's my beloved bass. 2011 Fender American Standard Precision, all stock except the pickguard (genuine Fender replacement), the strap buttons (Dunlop Dual Design) and the strings (Elixir). Currently saving for another of the same in black/maple.
13. Lozz was kind enough to send me a set of Chromes he wasn't using any more, and he wouldn't even let me pay for postage. Really top bloke, thanks once again mate
14. I love System Of A Down, especially their older stuff, but I've never learned any because they use drop C
15.
and so it begins... haha
We're all familiar with it, eh? Haha! I've had countless basses I said I'd never sell, and I think I've owned close to 30 in the last 3 years (8 at one time). Now I have one bass, a precision, and the only thing I'm gassing for is two more precisions
16. It won't be long before you find yourself wanting to sell your other basses and buy another Fender Precision maybe an American Standard next? Mmmm....
17. I can't think that I've posted my bass in here... Maybe I should.
18. Nice! Glad you're pleased with it.
19.
Either get a 5 string or play the octave higher. If you play with brass & Woodwind then expect lots of songs to be in Eb and Bb.
Don't want to do either and I don't play with brass or woodwind
20. I'm saving for a second Precision but it's gonna take a long time before I have enough money to buy one.
