1.
Nice one, you'll need a knee replacement before it needs a refret.
I'm a "neck-gripper" and seem to wear frets like nobody's business :/
2. I just used the P for a gig and it sounded epic just as it is I dread the day it needs a refret but hopefully that's years away
3. Ah ok, now I get it. Thanks guys I like the "nasal parping" (best analogy ever, by the way) on a few songs but I must admit I much prefer the P tone overall. I'm not gonna consider the mod any further then. I shall save this cash towards moving house, and I'll look in to making myself a parts Jazz at some point in the future (black J body with maple USA P neck mmmm)
4.
2007 SPECTOR NS2 USA MINT CONDITION BUT WITH A COUPLE OF ISSUES ON THE SIDE EDGE OF BODY. QUILTED MAPLE BODY/PAU FERRO FINGERBOARD EMG PJ, 9V 2 BAND ACTIVE CIRCUT ORIGINAL CASE INCLUDED 2300 EUROS + shippings from Italy
Forgive me but, how is it mint if there are a couple of issues on the side of the body?
5.
So true.
I still don't get it help an old girl out here!
6.
Once you get over 30 you never use the J pickup again anyway.
How so?
7. That's good advice Nigel, thank you I think I shall probably just treat myself to a new set of strings and stick the rest in a savings account.
8. So, now that I've paid my vet bill, I think I would like to add a J pickup to my P bass. I would want both pickups to have separate volumes (so I could turn either one right off if I wanted to), and for the tone to still control the P pickup to get the full range of P only tones. I would basically only want to have the J pickup there to add a bit of versatility for when I want to play disco or pop stuff. Does anyone think this is a bad idea? Should I just find a cheap Jazz bass instead of molesting my pride and joy Precision? I don't really like the look of the J pickup on a P bass, but love the idea of having a "one fits all" bass. Also, any idea what this would cost me? I can't do this type of job myself. I want to replace the P pickup with an SPB-3 and the J pickup would be SJB-3
9. I have the Amplitube app with iRig and I personally think it's better than the Pocket GK one. Horses for courses though
10. I think the key word is YOU need to write new lines for the track
11. Awesome! Glad you had a great time, and congratulations
12. Due to my remaining adult rat getting an ear infection, and the three new babies having chest infections, I'm still looking to trade down on this as I'll soon have another couple of hundred quid to add to the existing vet bill.
13.
Cheers Mel, we had a great. Hope you can join us one day/night. We're hoping to arrange a get together in the Cardiff area so hopefully that would be close enough for you to come along?
Yeah Cardiff is only just over an hour on the train
14. I sold a bass to them last year. Which was cool. I'm not really a fan though TBH, never been really in to indie.
15. Right now I'm on a bus listening to Abba's Voulez Vouz album. Fantastic stuff.
16.
And then you can bring it over to Gloucester, have a brew with me, and I'll set it up for you for nowt - and I'll even show you how so you can save yourself money on shop visits in future!
By the way, I didn't mean to offend with this... I wasn't assuming you couldn't set it up yourself, just saw that you just took another bass to a shop, and they charge way too much IMHO...
17. Deb, if it's a P bass, don't sweat it, just buy it! They're worth every penny. And then you can bring it over to Gloucester, have a brew with me, and I'll set it up for you for nowt - and I'll even show you how so you can save yourself money on shop visits in future!
18.
I have absolutely no justification other than "I want that" .... It's just lust. Pure and simple. A strong driver all the same.
Life's too short. If you have the cash and it will make you happy, buy it. And, let us know what it is, we're nosy!
